Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a shaker. Murky medium amber colour, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma toasted malts, caramel, light liquorice, overripe apples. Taste medium sweet and bitter, faint sourish touch (infection?), malty, caramel, raisins, candy sugar. Light body watery to oily texture, flat carbonation, thin sweetbitter aftertaste, drinkable.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 30A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 001-19 (BBF 2020.01). AROMA: medium-high sulphur aroma (rotten eggs), followed by low citric and spices. medium-low mold-like character. APPEARANCE: gold colour and hazy with particles in suspension. medium-large off-white head with good retention. TASTE: medium yeast flavour, followed by low citrus, slight spices and mold-like note. slightly sweet low malt background. medium-low bitterness with a very dry finish with a slight dry spicy pepper note. PALATE: medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. astringency. OVERALL: a spice beer with excessive fermentation problems and poor quality ingredients.

AROMA: medium-low tangerine aroma with a slight dried skin character. medium-low background of caramely malt. medium-low alcoholic presence. low oxidized hops. APPEARANCE: amber colour and clear. medium beige head with good retention. slight lace formation. TASTE: initial tangerine flavour, followed by low oxidized hops (dried grass), low caramelized malt and medium-low clean sourness background. medium to medium-high bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium carbonation. alcoholic warmth sensation. OVERALL: an ok fruity sour ale.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 33B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L003-018 (BBF 12/29). AROMA: medium to medium-high alcohol notes with a peppery, vinous and almost solventy character, followed by medium Porto barrel without wild notes and slight wood. low background of raisins and slightly sweet and caramelized malt. APPEARANCE: amber colour and hazy. medium light brown head with average retention. slight leg formation with visible alcoholic viscosity. TASTE: medium Porto barrel flavour with a vinous, woody and slight vanillin presence. low background of caramel malt and faint raisins. medium-low bitterness with a semi-dry finish. PALATE: medium-high body with medium carbonation. expressive alcoholic warmth. OVERALL: a very nice Porto barrel-aged strong ale where the spirit is present with a supportive base beer.

AROMA: medium-high alcohol aroma with peppery and slightly solventy character. medium-low to low raisins/dried prunes. low sulphur background. APPEARANCE: dark amber colour and clear. medium-large creamy light brown head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: initial medium solventy alcohol, followed by medium-low peppery phenols and very faint raisins. low background of inappropriate roasted malt. medium bitterness with a very dry and slightly roasted finish. PALATE: medium body with medium-high carbonation. alcoholic warmth. OVERALL: an average dark strong ale.
