Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. Very faint mist on a pale gold. Decent white foam stays the course. Clean enough malts albeit there’s a very light metallic edge here. Grassy hop. Touch of privet leaf. Taste has pretty crisp dry lean bitterness. Drinks easy. Lean bitter finish with a bit of residual sweetness. Barring the metallic thing, this is a nice Helles.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, pale yellow with a lacing, white head. Delicious lemon aroma. Medium body, quite sweet lemon notes with a soft carbonation. Lovely - but very sweet - lemonade. 050226

500ml bottle. Opalescent, orange, golden colour with average, dense, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Slightly grainy, minimally spicy and strawy, malty aroma, minimally waxy, grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is mildly bitter, grassy hoppy and slightly grainy, minimally strawy and spicy malty, subtle residual sweetness.
Oily-watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Very clean, homogeneous, fairly drinkable - not the worst of that style.

Goldene, glasklare Farbe. Schöne Schaumentwicklung. In der Nase hat man Blumen, Getreide, Honig und Früchte. Beim Trinken bestimmen getreidige Noten, gefolgt von Frucht (Birne, Quitte und ein Hauch Aprikose) und floralen Noten. Hopfung mild. Perlt ordentlich, ist aber trotzdem richtig voll und weich. Kaum zu glauben, dass das Bier "nur" 4,9 % Alkohol hat. Sehr ordentliches Helles. Da gibt es nix dran auszusetzen.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear deep goldem - borderline amber - with a rich and lacing, off-white head with good retention. Discreet perfumy hop aroma. Rich, sweet, malty body, biscuits an crackers with not quite enough hops for balance. But a lovely malt lover's brew. 041225

Gold with a frothy, white head of modest duration. Grassy, buttery aroma with a touch of lemon. Taste is mildly bitter on a sweet, dough-like base. Faint, peppery twist at the finish. Body to the light side of medium, mild carbonation. Quite decent for a Helles.

Getrunken als „Johann Auer Rosenheimer Weißbier Bock". Mahagonifarben, ziemlich überwältigende Schaumentwicklung. Malzbier, süße Blumen und etwas frischer Apfel in der Nase. Beim Trinken ist dann das Malz die klar dominierende Macht. Leicht röstige Noten, etwas Schokolade und Likör und ein winziger Hauch Holz und Leder sind vorhanden. Der Alkohol spielt geschmacklich eine etwas größere Rolle - aber nie unangenehm. Sehr weiches und volles Mundgefühl. Erinnert mich von der Konsistenz an Orangensaft mit Fruchtfleisch (mit viel Fruchtfleisch).

Dunkelbraune Farbe. Schön cremiger Schaum. Geschmacklich haben wir dunkles Malz, Schokolade, etwas Apfel und leichte bitter, florale Noten. Die Hefe spielt auch mit rein. Schön voll, wie es sich für ein Bier mit immerhin 5,5 % Alk. gehört. Anständiges, wenn auch nicht überragendes dunkles Weißbier. Das helle Weizen von Auer spielt da in einer ganz anderen Klasse.
