Taste is dark fruit-prune, dark malt-licorice/chocolate/molasses, spice-including cinnamon, syrupy, secondary/faint hops bite, although listed as zero IBU’s. Kathy said tasted like no hops, just spices. Smooth, nice sipping beer with some complexity, which is more apparent as it warms. Nice beer by Tim. 3.5

Sample at the brew pub: Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin and dense light beige head that retains well. Top ring of lacing on the glass with spots underneath. The aroma is thoroughly malty with a moderate caramel and hops presence. Medium, smooth body with a decent balance of malt, hops and fruit flavors. The finish is mostly sweet, earthy hops to start, and leaves a nice hops aftertaste. One of the better brews I tried at Tun.

Sample at the brew pub: Clear orange-amber color with a medium thin ivory head that dissipates steadily. The citrusy hops aroma is potent and welcoming. Medium-bodied with a piney hops character, and a sweet malt underbelly. The finish is moderately hoppy and citrusy and stays on the tongue for a bit. Above average, although not by a lot.

Sample at the brew pub: This brew is solid black with a medium thin and fizzy beige head that diminishes rapidly. Specks of lacing. Nutty, roasted malt aroma. Medium-bodied and smooth with roasted coffee and malt flavors that fall off pretty fast. There is a touch of chocolate as well but again it retreats quickly. The finish is on the thin side and feels soapy, with a lingering hops and coffee aftertaste. Average, and would be significantly better if it weren’t so timid.
