12 oz. can. Pours a husky amber body, quite hazy, under a foamy off-white head. Some unfiltered bits of malt even in the head. Thin amber malt smell, just balanced by a nose of woody English hops. Fine malty taste with a prickle of hop bitterness on the tongue. English hops grow stronger. Full mouthfeel, malty at first, then dries off after swallowing. Filling, but also easy to drink.

Can. Pours a hazy amber color with a frothy white head. Aromas and tastes are of earthy hops and sweet caramel malt. Medium bodied with a bitter finish. Rather malt forward IMHO. Not my favorie version of an IPA.

Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is a nice earthy malt with a herbal hop. Flavor is a spicy chewy malt with a nice hoppy backbone. Finish leaves equal parts resin hops and dry bready malt. An American version of a English IPA with a much larger hop presence than versions from across the pond.

12oz can. Unfiltered murky orange body. Foamy, glass lacing off-white head. Kind of an earthy, soapy hop feel. Medium bland grainy, earthy malts. Not an impressive offering, but drinkable in some aspects.

12 oz can at Boiler Room in Chicago, Illinois. The pour is golden orange with a small white head. The aroma is caramel malt with tangerine citrus fruit. The taste is the citrus hops and the caramel toasted malt, flavors are a blend of bitter and sweet. Perhaps more malt forward, though nice balance. The palate is medium to light bodied, active carbonation and a clean bitter finish. Solid.

Draft at Standard Market Westmont. Slightly clearer gold color than the Restless Years I just had. Foamy head dwindled away quickly. Body is hazy upon closer inspection. I get just a slight whiff of fruity esters, with a note of honey to the back of my nose. Taste is within the saison style wheelhouse: estery and a but yeasty. Honey is present, but very mildly. Overall impression is somewhat understated for a farmhouse beer.

Draft at Standard Market, while chatting with brewster. Just a bit of russet in a golden beer body under some lacy foam. Primarily hops in the nose, but at least it’s not too strong; rather a fragrant bitterness. But the taste brings out much more hoppiness. Feels most like dry-hopped Pacific varieties, and it almost knocks out the rye taste. Or perhaps the hop and rye are combining for an overall spicy tone. Taste is big up front and stays that way all the way through. Leave a note of black peppercorn at the end.

A hazy deep gold with a 1 finger head of foam that shrinks very slowly.
Putting my nose up close, there’s an abundance of malty aromas going on. .very reminiscent of an English Ale. The hops come across as citrus, mostly of lemon.
The very same thing going on in the taste. Wow. They weren’t kidding when they labeled this as an English style IPA.
Medium body and carbonation.
I would love to see more brewers put out an excellent brew of this style like what Temperance did here.
