Bottle shared at the Cad’s 10th Anniversary Tasting - CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Scoopey. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds tangy ripe fruits, fusel alcohol, toffee, faint Belgian yeast. Light to medium sweet flavor with more tangy fruits, faint cocoa, ketchup, earthy hops. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sugary finish with some odd notes of berries, condiments, light roast, more earthy bitterness. Pretty strong but not in the right ways.

Nose is nutty, dark malt, mince meat, hint of balsam, toffee, spice, wooded notes. Taste comprises candied fruit peel, biscuit crumble, toffee, earthy, toasted brown sugars, tarte fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a touch of ashen bitterness and light booze tunes. Ok dark Belgo.

Bottle at Yatai, Aberdeen. It pours hazy blonde with a decent foamy white head. The nose is fresh, zesty, juicy orange, lemongrass, sweet yuzu and dough. The taste is crisp, smooth, wheaten bread, touch of spice, light herbal, zesty orange, light yuzu, tart fruity aspect and preserved lemon with a dry finish. Medium body and effervescent carbonation. Foamy mouth-feel. Crisp, clean and very drinkable. The yuzu adds a nice dimension to the base beer. Good for matching with the rather tasty food at Yatai!
