bottle , pours orange, no foam taste is pretty intence, very very fruite ( pear and some apples ) sour in the back . very drinkable. --- i think it was an 1982 vintage but i need to check --

Flaska @Akkurat. Provad årgång, troligen enligt Akkurat, 1991. Bärnstensfärgad med total avsaknad av kolsyra. Nada skumkrona. Lite som att hälla upp en pommac/champis. Det den saknade i kolsyra vägdes upp i smak dock. Knuten doft med tydligt inslag av russin. Hade förväntad en torrare smak men den har drag av madeira. Annorlunda!

Clear amber golden colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, apple, melon, funk, malts, honey, sour lemon juice and acetic acid. Sour flavour, vinegar, citric acid, pickle and apricot. Decent carbonation. Sour finish, light vinegar, acetobacter, lingering sour. And no Madeira/raisin notes.
Nice! Certainly very different from a recently tasted sweetened geuze by Belle-Vue from the same period. According to a certain German geuzesteker, whose knowledge of lambics I completely trust, these bottles are pure De Neve lambic.

Nice! Certainly very different from a recently tasted sweetened geuze by Belle-Vue from the same period. According to a certain German geuzesteker, whose knowledge of lambics I completely trust, these bottles are pure De Neve lambic.

One more old bottle from the original brewery – are the InBev bottles even out there? BBF strip ends @ 1994 – so def older than that, 1992? Vintage maybe. 375 ml. bottle @ DHL thanks. Appearance is bright lambic amber with some white bubbles for a head, more lambic than geuze looks – reminds me a bit of the old De Troch lambic had before. Smell is oxidated musty cellar, old candy sugar, light tart apples, dust,.. Taste is lovely tart apples, finish sour apples, flowers, lemon, lightly musty orange, tart lemon, reminds me idd a bit of De troch, very old lambic, not that new or geuze crap, touch watery, almost but still holding up, very drinkable, little if at all carb. Not the best but a very enjoyable one even if already showing signs of wear, was this entirely proper to begin with? What is up with some people having had this at the first RBBWG in Antwerp – must have been way passed out / asleep / tired when that happened. Or maybe not invited?

375mL bottle at DHVL, unknown exact vintage but for sure before 1994, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of dusty dry cardboard, sawdust, and barnyard funk. Flavour brings out dry cardboard, some barnyard funk, a little wood and sawdust. Lots of funk, with a very dry woody character. Finishes with loads of funk, wood and minimal acidity. Very complex stuff. This has stood the test of time exceptionally well. Wonderful gueuze.

1984 vintage at home. It pours cloudy deep purple with a small bubbly off-white head. The nose is cherry, strawberry, jam, coconut, vanilla, wood and a hint of pure cocoa. The taste is sour dark cherry, damp wood, red grape, strawberry, plum skin, tangy jam and light lemon with a dry, lightly tart finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Smooth, well balanced and tasty. Has aged gracefully.

1991 bottle. Pours with a lightly hazed deep golden hued body with low carbonation. Aromas are funky, floral, chlorine and grass. Apple, medium ester, low lemon, tea bag like tannic (over steeped tea aroma). Flavors are lightly tart, some tongue depressor like wood, chlorine, slightly odd off-flavor that I can’t quite pin point, mild acetic acid. Medium carbonation, dry. Probably well past its prime, but I do not have much to compare it to.

Bottle @ Christers. 1990 or earlier vintage, BB 1992. Pours clear orange golden, no head. Aroma of brett, barnyard, horseblanket, vinegar, dusty. Flavor is barnyard, horse blanket, green grapes, dust, vinegar, light vinegar. Thin body, flat carbonation, dry finish. Nice and easy drinking. 041212

Bottle from before 1992, 5.2%. Clean amber with no head. Aroma is malt, wheat, tart, barnyard, little sulfur and leather. Flavour is malt, wheat, little tart, barnyard, leather, little sulfur, flat and a little citrus.

Bottle best before 1992. No head. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are nice and sour brett, vinegar, leather, barnyard, malt and fruity notes. Nice, dry and acetic. No carbonation what so ever.
