Gold colour and thin head. Bright. Light banana and lots of biscuity pale malt. Nice malt character here, though not much on the wheat. Light banana, drier than most examples and better balanced with hop.

Pale amber, very slight haze, thin head. Bretty nose, almost smokey, boozy barrel that dominates -odd mix of barrel kind of bludgeoning a balanced, relatively light base. I can see why they tried this but it's too incongruous for me.
A lightly hazed golden ale with a thin creamy lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light Brett, light lactic notes, light cereals, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light Brett, light lactic notes, passion fruit, Epsom salts, very nice for a 2 year old beer. Can from brewery.

Poured from the tap. Clear dull blonde with small white head. Some watermelon rind, definitely remnants of pickled cucumber notes here, meh.

On tap at Darby's, pours a clear dull yellowish blonde, no head pretty much. Aroma has lots of salt, lacto, pickle juice, and a touch of watermelon. Flavour is very weak and clumsy, with floral watermelon, lacto, and salty brine. Nearly flat carb. Something must've gone wrong here. This is uncoordinated.

On tap at House of Funk, pours a clear copper amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of bready malt, earthy rye, and a touch of spiciness. Flavour is very rye-dominated, with a spicy rye character and dry bready malt base. The rye definitely dominates, leaving a bone dry, quite bitter finish. Gutsy move to use this much rye malt. It sort of works but it's a rather unidimensional beer. Interesting experiment.

On tap at House of Funk, pours a clear pale yellowish blonde with a small white head. Nose is very rustic, with lots of buckwheat, toasted grains more generally, and some brett. Flavour is much the same, with lots of buckwheat and toasted grains, rustic notes, some wild yeast, and a touch of woody barrel. Rustic, complex and grainy in nice harmony. Very nice.

On tap at House of Funk, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of wild yeast, moderate funk, and a touch of oak. Flavour is somewhat tannic and quite vinous, with lots of oaky vinous notes, wild yeast, and a dry woody, tannic, bitter finish. A bit harsh but the red wine barrels have rounded this out nicely. Much better than the non-BA version.

This looks quite dull, no head. Just ugly. Aroma is yeasty, salty and a bit of watermelon. On the palate, similar. The appearance and aroma indicate slight fermentation problem, the taste doesn't convince me otherwise. The saltiness is good, plays off the modest tartness, and hint of watermelon. Cleaner ferm and you'd have a good fruit gose.
