Taster. Appearance: hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma: dank with tropical fruits notes. Taste: similar with high fruity bitterness. Overall: too bitter, otherwise it would be good.

On tap at East Van, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out straw and light toasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with herbal notes and biscuity malt. Under-hopped and too herbal. Not a fan.

On tap at East Van, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, with some dankness, and biscuity malt. Flavour follows suit, with juicy dank hops, bright pine, and just enough biscuity malt backbone. Piney and juicy, with a pleasant, pronounced bitterness. Excellent.

On tap at East Van, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright saison yeast, with citrus and some toasted biscuity malt. Flavour expresses the saison yeast fairly nicely, with a bright citrus character and a crisp toasted malt backbone. Pretty good for a style that is not executed too well on this side of the Atlantic. Solid.

On tap at East Van, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is quite herbal and earthy, with not a whole lot of character. Flavour is very laid back, again with very little character - just some earthy notes, a bit of toasted malt. Not sure what they were going for here. Lame. --- Beer merged from original tick of Top Down Maibock on 05 Jul 2018 at 07:49 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5. On tap at East Van, pours a clear pale copper with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malt and a slight herbal character. Flavour is very bready, with plenty of dry grainy notes, some astringent bitterness, and yeast. One-dimensional and that dimension isn't thrilling. Weak.

Amber, small beige head. Light malt nose. Light sweet start, balance mid, Medium strength lasting hop bitter finish. I quite like it !!

Not very hazy, actually just clear copper with some okay foam though fast disappearing. Smell is sweet candy hops. Flavour is sweet chewy hops with a hint of malt behind it. Very sugary for this style, awkwardly handled.

Clear brown body, hints of copper, no foam. Very soft tinny malt aroma. Flavour is thin lager with caramel hints. Full mouthfeel, but missing the mark.

On tap. Pours a brown amber with little head. Really just a malty drink with not much more to speak than the industrial draft it was replacing.
