Description
Old Abbey Ales was founded in 2013 and brewed its first batch of beer at our Abbotsford facility in March of 2015. We have been crafting exceptional award-winning craft beer since that time. At Old Abbey Ales our award-winning Head Brew Master, skillfully crafts each small batch of beer by hand. This produces what we believe, are some of the finest beers in the market. As an artistic crafter, our Brewmaster, Steve is always looking to create new beers with the most unique, freshest and finest ingredients he can source to purchase locally. We take pride in supporting our local farmers and strive to support our local economy.

Draught at the brewery
Golden color with creamy head. Clean, with moderate malt character, maybe a bit of rye, and correct bitterness.
Nice, clean, easy.

650mL bottle, pours a cloudy pink with a small white head. Aroma brings out lightly tart raspberries, some citrus and light lacto. Flavour is lightly tart, with citrus, lacto and faded raspberries in good mix. A big lacto bomb with a yogurty palate. Not overly complex but drinks well enough. Decent.

On nitro tap at Old Abbey, pours black with a large beige head. Aroma brings out load of espresso upfront, followed by dry cocoa. Flavour is along the same lines, with loads of espresso upfront, followed by bitter coco. Bitter finish. Thick as hell palate. Good, but needs refining.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a jet black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, alcohol and dry cocoa. Flavour is quite abrasive, with roasted malt, caramel and residual sweetness that lingers. Quite alcoholic too. Decent but needs refining.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, dark fruits and bready toffee notes. Flavour is dry and rather astringency, with bready malt, toffee and some caramel. Quite yeasty and dry. Not especially complex but reasonably balanced. Not bad.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out some wild yeast and biscuity malt - pretty subtle. Flavour is along the same lines, with funky yeast, biscuity malt and a touch of fruity esters. Nothing overly special, but it's a decent funky blonde beer. Decent.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out dry funky notes, with Belgian yeast and crackery notes. Flavour is rather off, with harsh funky notes, some cardboard, and dry biscuity malt. Definitely something wrong here. Off-notes all over the place.

On tap at Old Abbey, pours a cloudy dull golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of funky bretty notes, vinegar and citrus notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with barnyard funk, citrus, vinegar and acidic notes. Not exactly harmonious, as the acidic and vinegary qualities kind of dominate. Okay.
