Description
Over time, even the smallest creek carves out a gully, forever changing the landscape. We make cider from our Naramata orchards, which have been tended by our family for five generations. Certified Organic for over 30 years, we are stewards of the land and strive to express its sense of place through our cider. Using organic farming practices and low-tech hands-on cidermaking techniques, we invite you to enjoy apples in a new yet ancient light.

355mL can, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out gently funky apple core, tart apricot, and crisp apple skins. Flavour is dry and bright, with lots of tart apple core, tart apricot, and gentle funk. Moderately-to-heavily acidic, with plenty of apple core on the finish. Unnecessarily alcoholic, which doesn't bring with it any added complexity or depth. It's not bad, but isn't terribly interesting.

Poured from 750mL bottle (2020 vintage). Clouded blonde with rapidly dissipating white head. Mild effervescent carbonation, apple skins, mild funk, dry-ish. Decent.

Poured from 750mL bottle (2019 blend). Slightly hazed light orange with very quickly dissipating white head. Mild gamay skins and apple with champagne like carbonation, dry, decent. First sip had a touch of booze, but not so much on subsequent sips.

750ml @ Brian's. Appearance: a bit hazy golden with no head. Aroma: apples, grapes must. Taste: very dry, tannic, apple seeds, grapes, very carbonated. Overall: pretty good, but it's a bit too dry for me.

330mL can, pours a clear pale blonde with a medium, quickly-dissipating white head. Nose brings out floral citrus rinds, bitterness and crisp apple skins. Flavour is indeed very bitter and floral, with biting apple skins, intense bitterness, a soapy lemony floral character, and some boozy champagne-like notes replete with aggressive carbonation. Well this sure is interesting. It's on the harsh side, both in terms of bitterness and the lemony floral character, yet it's refreshing and drinkable. Fun and interesting.

Re-rate; Poured from the tap. Same rating. May 7, 2022 @ Darbys (7/3/7/3/15=3.5): Poured from the tap. Hazy pale blonde with minimal white head. Lots of dry apple skins, quite nice.

On tap at The Magnet, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is complex and funky, with lots of barnyard funk, champagne-like effervescence, and rustic notes. Flavour is fairly gentle, with rustic saison notes, barnyard funk, lots of bugs, and champagne-like effervescence. Not the most complex and I don't really notice the apple character. But this is very nice.

Medium gold body with modest carbonation and minimal foam. Kind of a meaty apple aroma, soft sharp sweetness. Taste is chewy green apple, vinous, ends bone dry with lingering sweetness. A nice blend, feels very green, but working well.

Nice peach colour but no foam and no real visible carbonation. Very sweet chewy apple on the nose, kind of like a strudel, leaning toward overbearing. Taste is plenty of apple sweetness with a slightly bitter finish, vague spiciness that could just be a trick of the mind. Might work as a dessert aperitif, or even better as a dessert ingredient.
