500mL bottle, pours a cloudy amber with a small beige head. Nose has a fair bit of vanillins, moderate bourbon character, lots of booze, and caramel malt. Flavour is sweet, malty, and boozy, with lots of brown sugar, some molasses, plenty of vanillins, and bourbon barrels. Sweet, gently boozy, sugary -- not as complex or deep as the 2020 version, but this is still very nicely done.

On tap at Sooke, pours a hazy orange amber with a small off-white hear. Aroma brings out loads of caramel, buttery bourbon, and toffee. Flavour is rich, with intense bourbon barrels upfront, followed by toffee, butterscotch, and a touch of resins. Really nice bourbon character, finishing boozy and with brown sugar. Excellent.

On tap at Sooke, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out a pleasant tangy citrus hop character, straw and a herbaceous character. Flavour is clean and bright, with some citrus hops, a bit of tang, grass, and biscuity malt. Clean and bright, with good hopping. Good stuff.

On tap at Sooke, pours an opaque cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has some phenolic, rubbery notes, subdued peaches (relative to the apparently high amount they dumped in), and a touch of lacto. Flavour is even more ruined by the phenols — there's gently tart peaches but this is mostly ruined by the rubber. Unfortunate. This needs a lot of work.

On tap at Sooke, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright coriander upfront, with orange peel, and soft wheat. Flavour is full of spicy coriander upfront, with soft orange peel, and pillowy wheat. Spicy, with a lightly sweet finish. Mediocre.

16oz (thx, Gerry C.) shared with George on the front yard. Appearance: hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma: floral, a bit of spices, malty. Taste: along the same lines, quite harsh. Overall: no good balance in here.

Bottle, purchased at the brewery. Dark brown, with a fairly large head. Rich dark fruity aroma with lots of chocolate and a fair bit of bourbon as well. But the base beer smells like a legit foreign stout. Rich fruity, chocolatey, full bodied. Subtle bourbon lends sweetness and rounded vanilla notes. Just a hint of alcohol late. Fuller and richer than what FES is these days. Honestly, this is impressive. Nailing the base beer, hitting a great balance with the treatment. I'd score this one really well at a pro judging. Excellent.
