Beautiful deep clean copper body and good foam. Very nice piney grapefruit aroma, full and sweet without being excessive. Taste is chewy pine with soft grapefruit, orange zest, ending oily but refreshing. A great IPA.

Cloudy gold body and minimal foam. Very herbal pepper aroma, quite surprising, rosemary dominates. Tastes of chewy wheat with some slight herbality, soft sweetness. Ends full with medium carbonation. Nice to see a new take on a witbier executed well.

Nice clean clear gold body and okay foam. Soft sweet hop aroma, vague grain. Tastes of chewy sweet grain, mellow clean hoppiness. Crisp and dry finish, easy and certainly sessionable.

Bomber, from Orchard Park LDB. Black, and looks fairly thick, too. There's some toasty aromatics, and a bit of chocolate syrup. On the palate, it's thickish, leaning towards sweet though bittered just enough. The malts aren't as complex as I'd like - arguably there is a bit of liquorice to go with the chocolate but it's mostly chocolate. So a bit one-dimensional for a larger stout, and not getting any Belgian anything in it at all. Would prefer a 12oz can to a bomber, I have to say.

Can, from Cask & Barrel. Pours a bright amber colour, with a medium head. Quite attractive. The Belgian yeast is prominent in an estery aroma that also carries just a touch of plasticy phenols. The bitterness is piney and more in line with APA norms, but the Belgian yeast maintains its character throughout. It's not the ideal yeast for an APA-type, but it does differentiate this beer, and it's doesn't not work. It's just a little bit incongruous because it doesn't seem to add anything particularly desirable. It's an interesting experiment - I guess once you think the idea you sort of have to brew it, and it seems like the brewery has nailed what they're going for and and made the best of it.

Hazy, pale. Just a thin head. Very estery and some bubblegum phenols in there as well, along with plastic and stone fruits. Sticky and sweet - not really like the classics, which are usually more hop-accented. The phenols are problematic, but the esters are okay. Not bad, but not as good as this style should be.

Can. Vibrant amber colour, medium haze and a thick head. Looks nice. The aroma has a lot of sweet biscuity malt, and some piney, grapefruity hops. On the palate, similar. Nice sweetness - the malt character is pretty good - but the hops aren't coming across with any sort of brightness. That puts a bit of a clunk on this one, which is too bad. The malt could easily support, say, a big Columbus bomb, so maybe a missed opportunity.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with light foamy head. Aromas of dark sugar, bready malts and Belgian yeast notes of over-ripe bananas. Nice warm flavors follow same with additional raisins and figs. A nice dubbel without the metallic yeastiness of other North America attempts.
