Quite pale, and it has a decent haze. Looks good. Lots of head. Nice fresh, fruity hop aroma. Touch of lactic, and then a tangerine, papaya kind of dry hop, maybe pear, too? Good hop character, and I think the dry hops do lend some bitterness. Or the lemondrop hits some lemony notes? Anyway, fresh-tasting, complex and tasty. That’s a happy accident!

Dullish pale colour with some haze. Medium head. Light estery aroma. On the palate, lots of Dupont yeast, medium bitterness and herbaceous hops. The malt is thin…at this size that’s not a surprise. It’s like baby Dupont, or Petite Orval without the brett, so pretty tasty grisette.

Has some haze, thin head. Kind of a dark straw colour. Quite fruity, though. Bubblegum stuff that shouldn’t be there. Certainly there’s a moderate bitterness and some herbaceous hops but those phenols aren’t what I’m looking for in this type of beer (or any other type of beer, really).

Lots of passionfruit and gooseberries on the nose – big antipodean hops on this one, not surprisingly. Big body, lots of bitterness. Aggressive Galaxy and friends…so has an almost overripe character, but rich gooseberry, a lot of pale malt, too. It has sort of a West Coast type structure but down under ingredient bill…which I can see the value in trying but it would actually benefit from more restraint on the hops as they do veer towards grassier, overripe territory. Still, not bad.

Dark brown. Medium head. On the nose, has some dark fruits. On the palate, fairly full body, lots of hops, bringing a moderate bitterness and a nice leafy character. Again, some subtle dark fruits. Good malt complexity on this one. Excellent porter, wow. Gets better with every sip.

Has an apricotty look to it, and a thin head. Tart, juicy and with lots of apricot. Refreshing. I like it. The apricot provides just enough sweetness to it.

Dark brown, but I can see that it’s a bit hazy in there. Thin head. On the palate, that yeastiness is evident. The dark malts are cocoa-y, more porterish. It doesn’t come across much like a lager, just a mochaish porter. Finishes quick but that’s about it – not getting the rich malt development I’d like.

Dullish dark tan. Medium head. On the nose, it’s got some light hop. Some piney bitterness, light orange. The malts are a bit dull, however, flabby, and not providing a good base for the hops to shine (and not shining on their own).

Tasting at Matt's, vintage 2019, bottle
Solid imperial stout, with very strong alcohol punch; there is a good balance of roasted malt and chocolate, then rounded off by the bourbon; moderately sweet.
Boozy dark chocolate, good.

Tasting at Phill's, bottle
Hazy blond colour. Mild Saison yeast character, the hop is mildly resinous and vegetable.
Ok.
