On tap at Brewhall, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Nose brings out biscuity malt, toasted grains, and barely a trace of the currant. Flavour is clean but very bland, with biscuity malt and cereal graininess. Not much of the fruit. Simple and unremarkable.

Draught at Parallel 49, Vancouver
Red-amber colour, hazy, bright. Mild berry aroma. Lean body, at least it's not too dry, it helps a bit to show the berry juiciness, but currants are not expressive fruits, and this beer also has quite a share of vegetable bitterness in the finish.
Not very good.

Hazy golden color. A bit dank, with crisp malt base, rather dry, robust mouthfeel, resiny and piney final, then the spicy yeast is more evident. Not getting too much of the White side, which may be a good thing. Very good IPA.

Bottle thanks to Ferris. Pours a dark amber with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is toasted malt and raisin. Thin body, bready malt, bitter, metallic finish, nah.

Draught @ Red Racer, named "Robust Porter" but with the same specs. Dark brown, no head, but has that nice burnished bronze at the edges so really a nice colour. Chocolate nose, on the underhopped side, as per the Riot style. Chocolate, cocoa powder palate...this really falls in the middle. When you look at some of the old school classic porters, this lacks the malt complexity of a Sam Smiths, but also lacks the richness of Smutty Robust. If you're going old school, i want one or the other; falling in between just sort of gives you nothing to latch on to.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose brings out crisp crackery malt, straw and subdued hops. Flavour is very clean and crisp, with crisp crackery malt, straw, cereal graininess and a nice subdued hop character. Crisp and highly drinkable. Solid kolsch.

On tap at 12 Kings, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, light earth and a hint of smoke. Flavour is somewhat chalky and peaty upfront, with moderate toasted malt as the backbone. Dry and chalky on the palate and on the finish. This doesn't seem quite right.
