Poured from the tap. Clear blonde gold with small white head. Mild Pilsner backbone with sweet floral hops, mild grass and citrus hops, light pine finish. Decent.

Poured from the tap. Hazy gold with small white head. Chewy creamy malt with mild juicy citrus hops and a hint of pine. Okay.

Tasting at Matt's, can
Black colour, brown head. Heavy on the roasted malts, but it has a good body and enough sweetness to balance; roasted nuts, coffee.
Solid, this is very good (but highly roasty).

KInd of a soapy, lavender aroma. Hazy and pale, but a bit dull. Light bitterness but that's it. The grains are doughy and slightly husky. The lavender is burly. And so wrong.

473mL can, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is somewhat vegetal and grassy, with bright grassiness, herbal and vegetal notes, and straw. Flavour is grainy, with grainy Cheerios, straw, grassiness, and crisp biscuity malt. Very grainy and somewhat herbal. Not very convincing.

Dark brown. Bitter, lots of bitter chocolate taste. Chicory. The liquorice is big. I'm looking for sweetness but respecting the austerity. This is a fairly harsh beer, but I still like it.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small light brown head. Nose brings out black liquorice, deep roasted malt and molasses. Flavour is rich and robust, with lots of roasted malt, liquorice, and molasses. Roasty, fairly bitter, with deep roast and liquorice on the finish. Not the most cohesive or elegant impie, but it's well-made. Very good.

Poured from 473mL can. Quite hazy gold with small white head. There's no date stamp, but based on Oakes' rating, something tells me this may be old (ie: fall equinox) - can says spring or fall and it was bought slightly BEFORE the spring (I'm guessing this may be from the fall equinox...so a bit old?). Slight vegetal, a bit of pine, some biscuit malt. Nothing special.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Pale blond colour, clean. It's crisp, clean, dry, with balanced bitterness, but it has no malt or hop character, as such, this is just a small step above a macro Lager.
I really wished all these Italian Pilsner brewers had a chance to drink the first true one from B.I.

Poured from the tap. Clear-ish blonde with small white head. Coriander, saison yeast, touch of grain. dry-ish. Could be lower in alcohol. Fairly lacklustre.
