13th March 2021 Opaque dark brown beer, patchy thin tan head. Smooth palate, slightly viscous, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts. A little dark malt cream. Quite a robust tang here, heading towards the border that has the sour flag hoisted. Sourish chocolate mousse. Something burnt lingers in the background, fortunately way back. Warre's 1977 Port is a proper Vintage Port and like all Ports from that year, it's robust and drinking well now and likely for years to come. Somewhat surprised to see it blended here. Good port wine berry fruits, good and intense like it's parent Port Wine. Smooth finish. Hmm. Wanted to like this, not every day you see a beer directly associated with a propah Vintage Port. However, despite the obvious Port presence here, there is too many unwelcome distractions and ultimately it feels like a bit of a waste of the precious 77.

Bottle shared in HW - cheers to Dan. Pours deep brown with a bubbly beige head. Medium sweet, quite earthy and woody, some dried fruits, leathery berries, chocolate. Medium to full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Earthy and bitter finish, ash, old wood, dried berries. Solid.

Bottle shared at Colin's place. Many thanks to Daniel osprey for this one. A rich mahogany brown coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is nutty, cola cubes, apple curd, cakey malts,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, big cakey malts, raisin, apple, cola cubes, bitter oaky finish, boozy finish. Palate is semi sweet, oaky, moderate carbonation.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - jet black with a thin beige head. Nose - tangy dried and fresh dark fruit. Blackcurrant lozenge. Tar, wood, molasses. Taste - tangy and lightly acidic black fruit, probably blackberries. Smoke, tar and molasses. Palate - unexpectedly tangy rather than soft. Medium to full bodied. Overall - good but not what expected.
