Medium amber. Medium head. Surprisingly little aroma. That and the dark colour already have me losing hope. Simcoe doesn't like too much malt. And the palate is a major let down. Sweet, bit boozy, pretty much zero simcoe brightness, pretty much just sweet malts that go nowhere. Nice lacing, though. There's even some butter in here. Fuck diacetyl.

Hazy, light pale. Thin head. Some bubblegum phenols and a touch of spice. Sweetish, but kinda thin in the finish. Vaguely spicy. Wouldn't say this takes me anywhere interesting.

Has a slight purplish accent. Hazy. Thin purplish head. Aroma has a touch of berry but just a touch. Same on the palate. I have no idea what the vision for the base is, but it seems sweet-tart, touch of berry, not really a well-structures beer.

On tap. Pours a dark reddish brown with moderate head. Aromas of creamy chocolate malts. Flavors follow same with additional nuts and chocolate, and only a hint of sharp rye. Surprisingly smooth for a rye porter. Nice for the ABV.

Draft - Malty and sweet with some buttery notes. Clear gold with a decent white head. Malty and fruity with a large amount of bitterness. Old school.

Draught at Darby's Gastown, Vancouver
Light amber color, clean. Strong buttery aroma, a bit estery, fruity. Sweet body with little character, orangey hops, and loads of diacetyl.
Extremely flawed, deeply unpleasant.

On tap at Darby's Gastown, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is totally infected by diacetyl, with not much else discernible. Flavour is disgusting, being totally infected with diacetyl. One of the worst diacetyl issues I've had recently. Undrinkable.
