500mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma has gentle port barrels, subtle dark fruits, and some bready toffee. Flavour is quite tart, with tart dark dried fruits, gentle port notes, and toffee. Very light-bodied, too tart, not the greatest complexity. It’s alright.

dark brown. Thin head. Dark malt, umami, cocoa, and the cognac barrel is actually quite strong here, but not adding refinement. The base has some fruitiness, some alcohol, the cognac comes across heavy. That base could be good, but not with this treatment, and it's really not integrated. Most of these have been better.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very boozy, with hot cognac, brown sugar, and dark dried fruits. Flavour is hot and chaotic, with lots of boozy cognac barrels, dark dried fruits, and brown sugar. The cognac character is rather boozy and lacking elegance/complexity, though the base is alright. Not hitting the right notes for me, but it’s alright.

Poured from 500mL side x side with Blend IV (bottled 02/2022). Dark brown with minimal off white head. Creamy apple brandy, some dark fruits, thinner-med bodied. Least favourite of the Sacrifice series.

Poured from 500mL bottle side x side with Blend I (bottled 03/23). Very dark brown with minimal beige head. Light cognac, dried dark fruits, thinner-med bodied, some booziness, considerably prefer other blends. Better than Blend I, but not by much. Okay.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is rich, with intense scotch barrels, big molasses, leather, a touch of tobacco, and cocoa nibs. Flavour is likewise very rich, with lots of leather, tobacco, big oak barrels, and medium roast. A bit sludgy on the palate and lacking depth and complexity, but it’s got some good notes. Could do with extra sugar too. Pleasant.

Dark brown. The scotch comes through the aroma right away, bringing a bright whiskey malt, with some chocolate, and a bit of dark sugar. On the palate, it's light for style, not much residual sugar, light scotch accent, and then there's a bit of fruitiness. Is there some acidity in this? The finish has more scotch. Good, but definitely would like more richness.

500mL bottle. Pours very dark brown with no head. Very dry and roasty nose with notes of whiskey barrels. Flavour has lots of dry, dusty roasted malts, tart dried berries, and a nice boozy whiskey barrel finish. Mouthfeel is a bit sludgy. Very nice, I really like how the malts come through here, even if the mouthfeel is a bit rough.

Black. No head. Good chocolate aroma, has a nice barrel aroma. On the palate, this is dry, lots of cognac. The base is predominantly chocolatey, which gets dry and with a shot of alcohol as a result of the treatment. The barrel seems to dominate - there's probably a lot of sugars because the body is solid, but they get dominated.
