Pours clear gold into a tumbler. Bright white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Sour fruit aromas. Tastes like it smells...lasting bitter root finish.

Pours clear amber into a shaker. Bright white head with excellent retention. Sour malt aromas. Sweet caramel upfront turning sour and bitter in the lasting finish.

Smells a little fruity and sweet. some sediment onthe bottom of the bottle creates a swirl in the glass. First taste comes on almost like a sour lambic then goes into this alky ale aftertaste. Its almost like they forgot to throw away the pomegranite rind. Interestingly bitter follow thru. Bitterness hangs on and on, like medicine. It would be nice if this stuff remained sour like the start thru-out the whole evolution of the taste sensations. Way to bitter for a good wheat beer. Yes, they forgot to ditch the peel of the pomigranite on this one. Finish is rather rude.

Sampled on draft at D’s Monroeville this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a medium sized white head that lingered. The aroma was sour, nutty and fruity with undertones of soap and bubblegum. The flavor was tart, tangy, sugary and fruity with notes of Pez candies, soap and bubblegum. The finish was dry and tart Pez. Disappointing.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-copper color with a medium sized foamy orange-white head. The aroma was a rather nice mix of strong coffee, roasty malts and vanilla. The flavor was dry, malty and lightly roasty and bitter with noticable coffee and light toasty nut underneath. The finish was long with roasted coffee. Very good.

12 oz brown bottle with a twist off cap. Off or somewhat coffee aroma with a ropey olfactory. Looks like ice tea. Very strong black coffee initial bitter impact. I looked back at the label thinking the flavor was like many coffee stouts I’ve had; imperial and other. Taste overwhelms most indications of carbonation, rather oily. Next slug is big bad coffee again. Session builds to a medium strong bitter lingering old coffee finish that sticks to the back of your mouth. Wew, now I am awake!!

A clear brown ale with a dark creamy thick moka head. A pleasant aroma of espresso coffee, nuts, and milk chocolate, very pungeant. In mouth, intense coffee and bitter chocolate, burned notes, dry malt. Surprising. Tasted on Jan. 1 2009.

An amber ale with a thin off white head. A very nice aroma of dark maple syrup, woody notes, and fusel alcohol. In mouth, a sweet malty ale with an oily mouth feel, lots of British hops, and a nutty final. Medium bodied.

On draught at Hank’s in DC. Golden color, not much head. Slight citrus aroma. Medium body and medium hops, OK bitter finish. Drinkable, but not much character.

On tap at Brickskeller. Pours a medium-dark brown color, still translucent enough to see through. Aroma is entirely espresso. Flavor is espresso, but surprisingly light for what I would have expected since most beers with coffee infused in them are quite heavy.
