This is made with gourds and spice. Has a pale brown colour, and drops bright. Thin head. Nutmeg and allspice especially on the nose. Light caramel malt. Sweet malt, lots of nutmeg and allspice especially. A fair bit of residual sweetness but it’s good – a little bit of caramelized stuff, darker richer sugars that complement these spices fairly well. I seldom get excited about this style, but this is a solid example.

Dullish pale, hazy. Just a thin head. It’s got a wonky sour note, not quite right, and then there’s a light but natural apricot that kind of cuts in over top of that. These notes aren’t integrated and honestly I’m not crazy about how it’s all coming together. I actually like the bright natural apricot even if it’s a bit mellow, but the base sour is just too far off for me.

Dark brown, a bit of brightness. Thin, bubbly head. There’s a touch of caramel and nuts, but maybe also a bit of butter in there. Low level, like about right for an old school English mild, but not what I want. Body is fairly big for the style.

Deep brown, fluffy tan head. Vague sweetness in nose and palate. Light hop bitterness in finish. Not a good example of the style

Bomber, LDB. Amber with a dull haze. Medium head. Light caramel nose with sort of fruity hops. Definitely some diacetyl in there, subtle at first. A little bit toasty, too. Moderate bitterness and I’m not getting much hops character. Ok, but I’ll have to drink it fast.

Bomber. Dark brown with a thick head. The aroma seems thick and crackery, but at least has some malt complexity in molasses and smoke notes. It's okay. I mean it's single bock in the body and taste, but if you think of it in those terms the dark sugars and toastiness aren't bad. If you're looking for a doppelbock, yeah, you'll be disappointed at the lack of sugary richness, body and complexity. But then, the list of non-lager breweries that can master a style as technically demanding as doppelbock is not a long list so I'm not surprised.

Very good foam, light gold body, strong carbonation. Clean sweet hops on the nose but a little subdued. Flavour is soft sweet grain, chewy hops. Full mouthfeel. Simple, clean, easy.

650mL bottle, pours a clear copper amber with a medium white head. Aroma is very musty, with earthy notes and some musty grape skins. Flavour is quite yogurty, with tart musty grapes, some tangy cranberry, lacto and earthy notes. This really isn't pleasant. Bad idea and poor execution.

Very nice copper body and modest foam, smells of soft caramel and a bit of tart fruit. Flavour is tart fruit, some caramel, citrus of no distinction. Good carbonation but otherwise no great aftertaste. Nothing juice box about this, quite frankly.
