650 ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown with moderate foamy head. Aromas of caramel malts, winter berries and a bit of spice. Flavors of candi sugar, piney earthy hops, minerals, and biscuity malts. Seems a bit chaotic but must be an improvement over previous years.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark mahogany color with moderate foamy head. Aromas of dark sugars, some florals and minerals, a little dry caramel, and toasted malts. Flavors of booze, candi sugar, caramel, florals and toasted malts. Alcohol is again much too present, though more along the lines of a Quad this time.

2016. Dark brown. Thin head. Soft body, some bubblegum, little bit of toffee, sweet, and a touch of alcohol. Better than expected. Doesn't show too much age, has a respectable sense of balance.

Poured from 650mL bottle (2016 vintage green wax; thanks dad, nice try for my birthday (wax beers are generally a good choice), but I won't be surprised if this is oxidized cardboard). Dark brown with minimal beige head. Toasted caramel and toffee malt with feint dark fruits, some oxidized notes, but not as egregious as suspected. It's held up okay.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold amber with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of toasted caramel malt, yeast and herbal hops. Sweet flavour of biscuity pale malt, orange and spicy hops in a crisp, dry, bitter finish. Light body with a smooth, pillowy soft texture and average to soft carbonation. Crushable, not bad.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a medium, foamy, short lived, off-white head that laces. Aroma of toasted bready pale malt, caramel and floral hops. Sweet flavour of toasted bready pale malt, orange peel, caramel and grassy hops in a crisp, dry, bitter finish. Light body with an oily texture and average to soft carbonation. Well balanced, but just ok.

On tap at Barley Merchant, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has a strangely musty, earthy hop expression, some sweatiness, and bready malt. Flavour is no better, with a sweaty hop expression and a bready malt base. Really poor hop expression—there’s nothing nice about this. Bad.

650 ml bottle. Pours amber with short fluffy head. Aromas of candied fruit, fruity esters, jellied stoned fruit, and toasted malts. Flavors of sweet candied fruits, coriander and celery; the latter overbearing. Oops…

Amber, rocky white head. Tiny bead. Subdued malt nose. Malt palate, lightly grainy with medium strength lasting hop bitterness. Great lacing
