Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Unclean amber color. Smells like wet cardboard and stale water. Dry mouthfeel, stale bread flavor, with enough bitterness to be called beer, but a bad one.

Draught at 12 Kings, Vancouver; 6% ABV
Dark brown color, not yet black, with generous beige head. Dry CDA, roasty but not ashy, with a dash of chilies and root beer.
Not bad.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a dark red with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted biscuity malt upfront, no real hint of the Belgian yeast. Flavour is similar, with bone dry biscuity and bready malt dominating. Doesn't seem like a Belgian at all. Inoffensive, but very boring and off the mark.

Draft - Light malty and nutty notes. Dirty beprown with a light white head. Light nutty and grainy notes. Bready.

6.1
Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 6.5

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Dark amber color, hazy. Mild dusty malts in the aroma, not enough expression. Round body, not too thick; mild malt flavor, some caramel, lightly earthy overall, with dusty vegetable hops in the final. The alcohol content is well managed.
Drinkable beer, no flaws, but at this gravity much more is expected.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 6.5

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dull golden color, clean, with eggwhite head. The aroma is delicate but very nice, a lot of quality from the hops, citrusy (7.5). The mouthfeel is extremely dry; it has a nice profile of biscuity malts, crackers; but the hop, although resiny, is not as good as in the aroma, and it has a too strong chicory bitterness in the final.
It needs a bit of tuning with the vegetable bitterness, but it’s a quite good beer.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is very grainy, with a soapy, detergent quality to the hops upfront, and a biscuity malt backbone. Flavour is a little different, with an earthy dry hoppy quality upfront, backed by a grainy biscuity malt backbone. Tastes better than it smells, but still isn't overly intriguing. Okay.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 4 | Texture - 2 | Overall - 3.5

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Cloudy red-amber color. Smells of currants and rotting fruit. Tastes like water soaked bread, sour fruit, cranberry juice, light vinegar. Weak final, maybe this is luck; lightly astringent.
Soooo bad.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours an opaque dark pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma brings out cleaner notes, citrus and black currants - uh oh. Flavour is very off-putting, with the same cleaner notes along with grapefruit and black currant. Juicy but too messed up with the cleaner notes. Bad.

On tap at Devil’s Elbow with Mark. Funky smell, cherry color, sour taste with no cherry notes. Meh. One more shitty Red Collar beer.
