On tap at Sumerian, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out dry bready malt and a restrained piney hoppiness. Flavour is of the English variety in both the malt and hop departments, with bready malt and a herbal, lightly spicy hoppiness. Clean and nicely balanced. Good stuff.

On tap at Sumerian, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out some grassy hoppiness and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is very crisp, with crackery malt and spicy grassy hops from the Saaz. Thirst-quenching, dry and crisp. Well-made.

Pint at Sumerian, presented on nitro. I had this on its premier, and had to go back for more. Clean and clear golden pour with a nitro consistent cream foam head and lacing. Smooth hop steady aroma. Flavor is wonderfully presented with the nitro. Rich cream front with gentle piney hops. A smooth foundation. Excellent pale. I’ve decided that i prefer nitro pales over nitro dark beer. This is exhibit A. Brings out the great qualities of the pale and makes it unique. I’m going to drink this regularly until it runs out. Awesome stuff.

Draft pour to a tulip at Sumerian. Clean and clear copper pour with a fading head. Piney hop aroma with a big beer promise. Creamy body with a strong piney hop presence. I can believe the 126 IBU tag for sure. I can believe the double digit abv too. Bold and strong hop character makes this a fun and interesting triple. Some hints of orange. Clean finish. Well built beer for sure. An enjoyable sipper.

Tasting at Matt’s, canned 5/1/17, 2 months old
Hazy golden color. I sense some orange peel in the aroma. Lean body, the malt base is very generic; balanced bitterness level, resiny bitter orange hops, not very bright though.
Good beer, I was expecting more though.

Tulip at brewery. It’s a good roasted but light stout. Mild acidity from the malts. I get a hint of something akin to pepper at the end. Andrew tells me is usually more spicy.

On nitro tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly robust for the style, with roasted malt and almost a slight spiciness. Flavour is along the same lines, with roasted malt and light biscuity notes. Robust but very ordinary. Solid for what it is.

Draft - Dark roasty notes with some chocolate. Jet black with a decent beige head. Dark roast, nice bitterness and a long finish. Nothing stands out, but very well done.

I originally had a growler of this that Andrew shared at a tasting. I really liked it and now the bombers came out. So, I purchased a fresh bottle super quick. Well, I still love it. Low on the bitterness. Hops are sweet and fruity, just my type. Not much more I can say, no pine or citrus just awesome old school C hops. The dry hopping doesn’t really come out, which is good. For $5.99, this may be the best double IPA in Seattle for the cost.
