Bottle at Honey Moon, pours a clear blonde with a small head and some carbonation. Nose brings out subdued ginger and even more subdued cherry. Flavour is thin, with light ginger and no notice of the cherry. Thin and lacking complexity. Okay.

On tap at Honey Moon, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of botanicals, light alcohol and some celery. Flavour is lightly acetic, with apple acidity, a touch of bourbon and maple. Boozy and acetic finish. Interesting but a bit harsh.

The raspberry is nice, but with a hint of vinous character...muscular mead. The fruit lends a nice balance, though.

The same sort of alcohol-tasting, off-dry mead that I don’t like, but with a big whack of cinnamon and cloves. Not really to my taste - I find you need a lot more residual sugar to carry the spice across the palate.

The underlying mead isn’t super clean, so the rhubarb lends some acidity to help tidy it up, but not enough flavour to overcome that sort of high alcohol wonkiness.

Light pink. Really nice balance, light fruit, subtle sweetness. Slightly tart. Good melomel where elements of both fruit and mead show through.

Reddish colour. This has a nice fruit character, balance, the tartness shows through in the finish. Drinks easy for the alcohol, which is a good thing when tasting and a bad thing when drinking.
