After having the Muddy York Switchboard Session IPA, having this Session IPA. Wow... quite different ! Golden-amber colour with an off-white frothy cap, average stay and good sticky lace. Where it changes mostly is the cereal grain nose and taste. Hints of citrus in the nose. Not much bitterness or citrus hops anywhere else. Nope, hops are really in the background. Yeah, toasty malts, biscuit notes... really, that's about it.

Can from the LCBO. Clear medium gold with a large frothy quick fading head generating lots of patchy lace. Nose is light citrus and tropical fruit, some pine and grains and light honey. Light+ sweet cereal and a light grassy bitterness. Mouth is thin with soft carbonation. OK. 7-/3+/6-/3/12

Can that pours an amber colour, clean with golden highlights. The light-beige head is frothy, has decent stay and some small patches of lace. Caramel malt aromas with some grassiness. The taste is where the Kölsch shows up a bit, with the cereal grain notes. The hops in the finish is where this ends. Yeah, really hoppy for the style. Still a decent hopped Vienna kind of brew.

Pours a clean golden colour with a fizzy off-white head that disappears quickly leaving no traces. Gets hazy at last pour. Aromas of spicy ginger over orange notes and a wheat base that gives hints of bananas. The taste shows no balance between these. The ginger disappeared. Some fruitiness is there, but what ? Seems to be fighting the sweetness of the wheat and oranges. Even the name of this beer has changed so many times, I wonder where this one is going.

Pours a dark brown colour with a little ruby-caramel highlights. Big frothy light-mocha coloured head, good stay and levelled lacing. You can smell the coffee over the roasted malts. It calms down, and eventually some sweetness does come out, like chocolate notes. The taste shows the hops with bitterness and dryness. The roasted malts grains linger a while as dryness builds. The coffee is light in this Black IPA, but adds a nice touch overall. Pretty good!

Can from the LCBO. Clear very dark mahogany with a large frothy khaki coloured head that lingers and leaves nice lace. Nose is coffee with toasted nuts, molasses, pine and grapefruit in the background. Light+sweet toffee and molasses with a medium bitter middle and finish with the coffee taking the fore but not overpowering. Mouth is medium and a bit oily with a relatively dry finish. Not usually a fan of coffee blends, but this one works. 7+/4/7-/4-/14

Third can from this brewery. Pours a clean golden colour with a big frothy warm cap, very retention and creamy-foamy lace. Aromas of dark greens from the hops with some citrus notes. The taste has these greener hops, but some of the tropical fruits show up. Bitterness builds in the finish and some decent dryness appears. Gets hazy at the last pour showing some unfiltered particles. If you like the greener grassy hops over the fresh floral ones, you will like this one.

This Belgian poured a cloudy amber colour with a creamy, white head. Nice lacing. Scents include ripe fruit, candy and a little spice. First swig was smooth and creamy with flavours of yeast, spice and hops. Finish is lightly bitter with hop flavour lingering.

Can from the LCBO. Hazy medium gold with a two finger lingering fluffy white head. Nose has light grains with leafy and floral hops and light orange peel. Flavour follows with a light toffee sweetness under a moderate bitterness that continues through the finish. Medium mouth with average carbonation. Decent. 7/3+/7/3+/14
