This brown ale poured a deep amber colour with a creamy, bread colour. Medium lacing. Scents include caramel, a little coffee and wood. First swig was smooth and rich with delicious flavours of caramel malt, a little coffee and oak? Finish is nice and roasty with a little smoke and malt flavours lingering. Delicious and I hope they continue to have it. Must have pulled out of retirement since this one was purchased at the brewery.

Can at my cousins’s wedding. Maclean’s IPA 6% At my cousin’s wedding venue helping to set up with a beer. Malty peppery rye with herbal slightly dank hops. Alright.

MacClean’s Lazy Hazy IPAzy 4.8% Hazy orange gold with a thick head of foam. It’s got a grainy honey aroma. Juicy fruity floral flavor with grainy biscuit malt notes. Not terribly juicy but am alright beer.

Part of their mixed 6-pack (I guess it is back in production after 10 years) Pours a clean, deeper amber colour with a big creamy-frothy beige head, good retention and loads of thick creamy lacing. Aromas of fruity malts, nuttiness, roastiness and some wood hints (which I got in their IPA - looks like from the hop they use). The taste has the same as in the nose. The hops are better blended than their IPA, with the same dry finish. Nothing special, but an easy-drinking brown ale.

Can from their mixed 6-pack. Pours a clean golden colour an orange hue. The frothy-bubbly head is off-white, has decent stay and the lacing pretty thick and foamy. Hoppy aromas, but it is not one(s) I recognize as this has bite, sharpness, is not refined. Grassy, leafy, piney - yes, but with something else which seems unbalanced. And too strong, potent. It's almost woody. Maybe even minty. This continues in the taste. Needs some citrus notes to balance. A nice dry mouthfeel at least. Yeah, just not one I like.

Can from the LCBO. Clear dark reddish brown with a one finger tan head that fades to a sheet. Nose is roast, coffee and a hint of cherry. Light molasses sweetness under a medium- dark chocolate and coffee bitterness and a light cherry tartness through the finish. Mouth is medium- with average carbonation. 7/3+/7-/3/13

Deep black with a thick beige head. The aroma is toasted oats and chocolate paste. Light bodied and roasty, the taste is chocolate paste and a touch of sharp licorice. Nice stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
