Description
As a microbrewery, our focus is on providing a wide variety of beer styles in addition to fostering the local interest in the brewing of craft beer. We consider brewing to be a craft and, whether you are brewing in your garage or on a huge production system, brewing a good beer and sharing it with others is a great way to bring together friends or even an entire community. We are proud to live in a town that is currently supporting two brewpubs and a nanobrewery, and look forward to doing our part to be a leader in the craft brewing revolution.
People in the U.P. work hard, take great pride in what is produced locally and have answered the call in supporting and improving the local economy. The name "Ore Dock Brewing Company" was chosen because we see our local ore docks as grand and iconic reminders of Marquette and the U.P.'s past, present, and future identity. We hope to provide a product and establishment that our community can be proud of for many years to come!

12 ounce bottle into lager glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of nuttiness, roast, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. A bit of fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity of dark/bready/light roasted malts, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of nuttiness, roast, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, light nutty/roast, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity and robustness of dark/bready/light roasted malts, and light earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no fruity/yeasty notes. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 5.7%. Overall this is an excellent Munich dunkel lager. All around great complexity and robustness of dark/bready/light roasted malts, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, easy, and pretty refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very clean and rich Munich malt showcase, with just enough noble hops to balance sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example.

All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, earthy hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink; with the balanced bitter/spicy/drying finish.
