On tap at Tap & Barrel - Shipyards, pours a clear copper golden with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, a hint of caramel and some bready malt. Flavour reveals notes of toffee, light caramel and some toasted bread. Crisp, caramely and creamy mouthfeel. Solid stuff.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out light piney and earthy hops, with toasted biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with earthy and piney hops, with a toasted biscuity malt base. Nicely balanced though a rather odd hop character. Solid.

Very mild tartness. Definitely on the low end for the style. Other a cleanly made beer, but lacking a lot of complexity. Beer revolution calgary

Draught @ Alibi. Amber, touch if haze and no head. Big oaky nose, vinous, and a bit of that well-caramelized malt I recall from the base beer. On the palate, this has a rich juicy acidity, again referencing white wine, but still retains some of that malty richness. Pronounced oaky signature, too. This is fun. Not actually surprised it's a bit polarizing, though. It seems like it would be.
