Description
Our award-winning beers aren’t called 'The Great Ales of Wales' for nothing. Brewed with passion and pleasure in South Wales, our prized portfolio truly has something to satisfy every beer connoisseur’s taste buds.

We are a family-run business with brewing in our blood, and this sense of pride can be tasted in every delicious drop crafted on site at our brewery in Swansea.

The present incarnation of Tomos Watkin was started in 1995 by Simon Buckley. In 2002 the Tomos Watkin brewery was acquired by Hurns Beer Company, a drinks distributor based in South Wales. Tomos Watkin first operated from a small brewery in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire and later opened a larger brewery in Swansea.

In August 2023, the Tomos Watkin brewery was purchased by no/low alcohol brewery Drop Bear, who also took over brewing responsibilities for all Tomos Watkin beers. As well as updating the Tomos Watkin brand with several new beers added to their core range, all their beers were made vegan-friendly.

500ml bottle. Gold with a thick cream head; caramel and malt aromas; similar flavours, but over-pasteurised giving an unappealling jammy, stewed fruit effect; slightly bitter finish, but mainly leaving a burnt caramel after-taste. Not pleasant.

Pour is a orange with a whtie head. Aroma is of sweet malts and a little mustyness. Flavor is some dark malts and a bit of caramel. I really could not tell the difference between this beer and the bitter i had from this brewer about 15 minutes ago. Both were watery and boring.

Pour is a orange with a small tan head. Aroma is small caramel malts and some mutsyness. Flavor is again some subtle mustyness with some light caramel notes. Pretty light in all categories.
