We are a family-run business with brewing in our blood, and this sense of pride can be tasted in every delicious drop crafted on site at our brewery in Swansea.
The present incarnation of Tomos Watkin was started in 1995 by Simon Buckley. In 2002 the Tomos Watkin brewery was acquired by Hurns Beer Company, a drinks distributor based in South Wales. Tomos Watkin first operated from a small brewery in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire and later opened a larger brewery in Swansea.
In August 2023, the Tomos Watkin brewery was purchased by no/low alcohol brewery Drop Bear, who also took over brewing responsibilities for all Tomos Watkin beers. As well as updating the Tomos Watkin brand with several new beers added to their core range, all their beers were made vegan-friendly.

Bottle from Cwmcerrig Farm Shop, Cross Hands, near Carmarthen. Rusty gold colour. Aggressively fizzy; far too much fizz for my liking. Medium cider with a little wood and vanilla, and some dry apple pith in the finish. Basic, but ok apart from the fizz.

This isn't desperately exciting but it's a perfectly servicleable bitter.Looks perfect being clear amber with a white head, malty caramel in the smell and taste with a bit of zesty hop in there too. Pretty solid.

Cask at Potters Wheel JDW, Swansea. Golden amber colour, white foam head and yeasty aroma. Taste is malt caramel, some grains, with fruity hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite OK

Gravicask, shared with Finn at the 24th Carmarthen Beer Festival. Clear golden-brown body under a patchy surface, dotted spots on the glass. Apricot smell. Dried fruity taste profile with a mid-sweet malty touch. Ends rather sweet. Accepted, not more. (04.10.2018).

Full pint, cask ale at David Protheroe (JDW). Shared with Finn. Clear amber coloured body. Filmy, bubbly layer. Spotty lacing. Mid-sweet smell of almond and dry hops. Decent taste profile of oily hops and almond. Bitter support towards the ending. Pretty alright. (Neath, 02.10.2010).

Fra gravicask på The 24th Carmarthon Beer Festival. Delt med Rune. Gyldenbrun. Filmskum. Lett fjøsaroma. Smakn har spor av fersken men fjøssmaken lurer i bakgrunnen.
