Aroma is cacao nibs and chocolate forward with lighter roast and coffee notes. Lighter toffee and caramel notes. Light coconut and vanilla notes. Medium alcohol notes with lighter notes of bourbon and faint oak notes.
Pours jet black with a small, thick, dark mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges and disappears. No lacing and sheets for legs.
Flavor is rather sweet with lots of chocolate and cacao notes. Moderate roast notes with lighter toffee and caramel. Fairly bitter with medium alcohol notes. Moderate coffee notes. Medium light coconut and light vanilla notes. Light bourbon and faint oak notes.
Mouthfeel is full bodied with low carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol notes.
Overall, a solid BA pastry stout. Lots of cacao nibs and coffee notes. The coconut and vanilla are light but they show up in the flavor a bit more than in the aroma.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated March 05, 2026.
Aroma is fairly coconut and vanilla forward with lighter coffee notes. Moderate chocolate and lighter roast, toffee and caramel malt notes. Moderate alcohol notes with lighter oak and bourbon notes.
Pours jet black with a medium large, thick, dark mocha head that recedes steadily to the edges where it lingers before disappearing. No lacing and sheets for legs.
Flavor is very sweet with lots of chocolate, brownie batter notes with lighter roast, caramel and toffee. Moderate bitterness and medium alcohol notes. Moderate vanilla and coconut notes, but the malt dominates unlike in the aroma. Light bourbon and faint oak notes.
Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid BA Speedway Stout. So much coconut and vanilla in the aroma, but the flavor is super sweet brownie batter. Alcohol is well hidden behind the sweetness. I wish there was more coconut and vanilla in the flavor though. Bourbon notes are lighter than I was expecting.

16 oz. can, pours jet black with a tiny white head. Aroma is super complex, with lots of deep roasted malt, rich coffee, a little vanilla, a touch of cocoa, and gentle bourbon barrels in the back. Flavour reveals more of the coconut upfront, deep coffee, dark sugars, soft bourbon, and vanilla. Deep malty goodness, with plenty of deep coffee, dark sugars, and vanilla on the finish. Excellent.

Gracias senor Shiggy.

New Belgium goblet at home on the deck. We practice safely here & have rails. Dark oily brown on black pour, still active after several minutes.
String spritz of carb as I open up my bottle.
The same base of green veg comes out in the nose here same as in the banana edition. A little more pronounced chocolate, oily nuttiness, vanillian. Obviously better as it warms.
Flavor wise, a layer of confectionary chocolate is a false flag. Upfront nuttiness, like walnuts, lending some bitterness. Charred coconut & a little liquorice.
Still acidy like that banana variant but this one carries a little bit of body. It's probably the dehydrated nut powder. Solidly boozy without being painful.

Tis okay.

Shig with the hook-up.

Goblet back at home on the deck.
Murky, dark cola pour. Lingering veil of head.
Green plantain sort of banana nose. Not initially sweet. A slightly medicinal candied Runt scent.
Veggie, very plantain-like. "Natural flavors" usually don't deliver & leave me a bit nauseous. Bittersweet, leaning bitter. Cola. Aspirin bitterness.
Surprisingly high carb. Thin. Bit more acid than I want. Medicinal booze.

Not what I thought of when you said banana stout.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated October 15, 2025.
Aroma is loaded with chocolate and fudge notes. It smells like rich brownie dough. Lighter vanilla notes. Light roast notes. Hints of caramel. Medium light alcohol notes with light bourbon and hints of oak.
Pours jet black with a moderately thick, dark mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges where a small film lingers.
Flavor is rather sweet with lots of chocolate and a decent amount of roast notes. Fairly high bitterness and medium high alcohol notes. Loads of chocolate and cacao with lighter vanilla notes. Light bourbon and hints of oak.
Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and moderate alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid BA pastry stout. Lots of chocolate notes and some lighter vanilla. Aroma is straight brownie or chocolate cake batter while the flavor is more like a rich, dark chocolate dessert. Bourbon notes are nice and complimentary. The cacao makes it a touch butter, but that works with all the sweetness.
