Draught @ Gasthaus, May 2026. Pours cloudy Golden Yellow with a White head. Dull and stale nose with a touch of Earth, cereal and green Apples. Not drinkable not fresh. 2.6

Less rustic but just as fresh. I didn't really know how to describe these beers. Zoigl is living culture... literally! Really easy to drink, and fun places to drink.

I'm not sure if this is "Echte Zoigl", it's not clear where it's made, but it's a very tasty rustic Kellerbier thing. Not pictured: the guitar/ accordion/ tuba band outside

Made it to Zoigl land!! This was my first stop, in one of the five Zoigl towns, Windischeschenbach (say that 20 times fast). Incredible beer, so fresh. Rustic and genuinely unique, more so than the others I had tonight. Amazing pretzel bun sandwich too.

Tap at Beim Gloser. Hazy deep amber body, thick tan head. Floral, yeasty aroma, bit herbal, lightly soapy. The taste is then somewhat soapy again, floral and yeasty, smooth, but with bitterness building up and clashing with the body. Felt out of sync this time sadly, not in the best shape. Shame, had very high expectations - I'll be glad to try it again next time when I'm there, if possible and rerate it, but it just didn't sit with me well this time.
