Cloudy brown amber color. Lots of Yuzu and peppery malty nose. Medium full body. Slightly sweet, Yuzu-ish and peppery, but a bit simplistic. Has kinda effervescent character to it. Interesting but doesn’t take me anywhere special.

dark brown cloud color. Big nose of Yuzu, vanilla and dark fruit. Almost reminds me of a dr. Pepper. Very malty, with Yuzu and vanilla everywhere but over done and distracting. This beer has potential but flavors need to be toned down. Glad I am sharing a bottle of this as I don’t think I could drink this on its own.

Bottle from Hasegawa Liquors. Pours pitch black with deep brown foam on top. Aroma is mainly peaty, tons of peat smoke, some whisky and some smoked leather. Totally peaty, maybe even a bit too much though. Taste is also intensely peaty, caramel flavours and roast are also probably there but I am not really able to recognise them. I do recognise the herbs, big time - sage, rosemary - they depart some distinctive bitterness to the beer, different from what you can get from hops. Lots of liquorice and Rigas Balzams in this beer. Aftertaste is long as all this leathery pettiness really coats your mouth and these flavours linger for long. Overall, maybe I should have aged this bottle for a while, right now still not really balanced and needs to mellow down a bit.

Bottle from the brewery. Poured light brown, not much foam. Bit hazy andlosts of yeast sediment - which is OK for a bottle-fermented beer. Aroma is smokey, some caramel toffee hiding underneath this smoke blanket. Taste is vey much as it smells. smokey sensation is reaching everywhere - but it is not too aggressive, leaves room also for other flavours. Bacon, burnt sugar and leather belt. I am quite enjoying this, very unusual beer for sure but well made.

Poured nice brown, some sediment in the bottle but that is completely normal for a bottle-fermented beer. Relatively low carbonation. Aroma somewhat brisk, prickly taste of alcohol and of course, deep malty base. Some dark fruits and caramel in the taste, nice bitterness balancing it - and alcohol is recognisable as well. Body feels maybe a bit lighter than usual Belgian styles but that is something I like. Had this together with pan-fried steak and worked nicely, great beer to have with food.

Tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown,a lost black and with a minimal head. Aroma has some roast, mixed with herbal character and ginger spice. Ginger is also dominant in the flavour, however it is not the only thing, herbal hops seem to blend quite nicely and overall this beer feels nice and christmasy. Drinks very smooth as the body is not very heavy - feeling light despite its slightly higher ABV.

Pours copper, little carbonation. Sweet, lots if green apple in the nose. Taste is caramelly, bit sweet, also some bitter caramel. Not sure if this is really resembling what the style should be but overall as a beer, it is still nice and I am liking it. Bitter linger in the finish.

Deep golden, almost amber. Bit of white foam at first but overall, not much carbonation. Aroma is quite mild, need to try pretty hard to understand it better. Some honey, sweet malts and just a bit of funk. Not sure if I am getting any herbs in there - but I seem to be getting a bit of brett. Taste is surprisingly light for 8,5% beer, there is trippel sweetness and Belgian candy sugar in the base - and Belgian yeast spices carry on in the lingering finish - but body feels quite thin and not really trippel-like. Which is actually a good thing in my book. Not sure if it has been intentional but it feels as if this beer got also infected with brett and the result is thinner-bodied but very drinkable trippel. I am getting some alcohol warmth now, so yes, maybe it really is 8,5% although it feels just too easygoing for that. Dangerous.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours hazy, light brown, dark orange, something between those colours. This beer is not really about looks - and it does smell wonderful. Funky autumn, lots of brett and horse blanket in the nose. Not too much though, some fruity notes existing there as well. Home made apple juice. I take the first sip and yes! Not really sour but simple, easygoing brett fermented beer. I could drink this all day, really. Reminds me Pinta’s Table Brett - no wonder that even the names are similar. Wonderful, highly drinkable beer, full of funk.

dark, dirty, amber brown color. Big green apples, bread, malty, very funky. The mouth is funky, but a bit boozy and even for 7%. Light mouth. Going in the right direction but not the best.
