Hazy light golden ale with a thin big bubbled head, collapsing quickly. Sweet honey malt with notes of orange peels. Sweet malt in mouth, with Belgian hops, coriander and oranges. Medium bodied. Bought at Delhaize.

(Bottle 25 cl) In this version Haacht is spelled "Haecht" which I believe is an old form. Very pale yellow, small white head. The spices are barely detectable. No edge, no refinement, no enticing perfumy palate. Wonder if this has turned too old? 250499

(Bottle 25 cl) Comes as "Derby Pils" at 5% ABV. Pale golden with a small white head. Malty body with a discreet hoppy touch and some faint metallic notes in the palate. But really no worse than the typical Belgian pilsener. 250598

(Bottle 33 cl) Jeez, this is the first time I’ve seen a brewery claiming their beer to be "multi-grain" (meergranen) when the only extra grain apart from barley is...corn!! Very inventive and amusing indeed. Dark golden - bit weird colour actually - very clear. Basically no head, but what’s there still manages to lace my glass. Faint maltiness in the nose - and then nothing. Absolutely nothing: no body, no bitterness, no malt. Perhaps I do detect a small artificial sweetness from the added saccharine. But quenching indeed - just like water is....

Dark ruby, good tanned head. Metallic, fruity malty nose (slightly roasted) with some caramel. Appearance and aroma are very dunkel-like. Sweet, sticky toffeeish but medium-bodied. Malty and alcoholic backbone. Quite carbonated. Sweet aftertaste. Good dessert beer.

(Bottle 25 cl) Beginners advice: always be sceptical if the label mentions low calories or the likes - "Kalorie-arm" in this case. Almost clear, just a wee tint of yellow. But actually a decent head. No body and the only detectable flavour is some iron. It’s not exactly awful - and that’s about the best thing to say about this. 270298

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden with a soft and very lasting head. Very close to the "Tongelo Dubbel Blond" which must be the base of this with some minor alterations in the recipe. A lovely velvety soft mouthfeel and a less sharp bitterness. 261097
