Description
An independent, family-run brewery for over 110 years. True Belgian craftsmanship. That's Haacht Brewery.

On June 14, 1898 Eugène De Ro brewed his first top fermentation beer. Four years later he also started brewing bottom fermentation beer. His beers were such a hit that ‘Haecht’s Dairy Company and Brewery’ became one of the best Belgian breweries in 1913. In the fifties and sities there were numerous small takeovers and the Haacht Brewery beers were being distributed across the entire country. Thanks to the take-overs of breweries in the south of the Netherlands and northern France, Haacht Brewery set foot ashore in neighboring countries. In 1990, Haacht Brewery started the complete replacement of its production apparatus; the whole process was completed around 2015. Today, Haacht Brewery is a state-of-the-art brewery, inspired by its history and at the same time more than ready for the future.

(Last of a once popular style in Belgium) Gold-yellow; huge, dense white head. Very grainy nose, like freshly ground barley, and coffee-cream. Again this coffee-cream aroma + grain/pale malt in the taste. Sweet, but not exaggerately so. Creamy, sweet-grain finish, very strangly with the mouthfeel, which is light, spritzy, mineral-water-like. Different from Pilsener indeed. The difference is the positive thing - but to say this would be great...

An orange beer with no head. The aroma is very hoppy - to hide the missing alcohol. The flavor is of mineralwater with a dash of malt in. It has way too little hops in the flavor to hide that it is a non-alcholic beer. The body is thin.

The aroma is sweet and acidic. The color is a clear light amber but it has no head. The flavor is thin, sweet, malty with some sourness and a dry hoppy end. Nothing special.

Anonymous nose. Amber, low head no carbonation. Mainly fruity flavors, especially banana ( and a little bit prunes), it actually got very close to a weissbier. Slightly vineous notes as well and with a herbal exit.

Brown-red, accajou, but hazy; thick, creamy-brown head going down lacey. Perfumey nose, even like toilet-soap, chocolatey. Some fresh herbal smell, difficult to pinpoint. Harsh bitterish start, upon rather sweet underground. Palate is as very watery chocolate - as chocolatemilk on add-water-base. Not very well-bodied. Not very exciting - and then I'm mild.

Amber/orange; fluffy, yellowish head. Herbal nose, crystal malt, meaty and yeasty, however filtered. Honey-ish taste, with a harsh bitter edge; a herbal concoction from the pharmacy. Syrupy mouthfeel, again meaty impression. This is not exactly my favourite. Beer of very weak quality, tastewise.

Pale wheat beer with little head and a weak aroma. A very weak taste that initially resembles savlon, but in the end becomes slightly citric. A very plain watery wheat beer.

Fully opaque black; diminishing dark brown head. Very sweet nose, "Traubenzucker", bit of chocolate. Very sweet taste, again "Traubenzucker" and lactose. Completely empty mouthfeel, aftertaste is like coloured water. Oh well, somebody has tried.
