500ml bottle picked up to share with my work buddies. We got a guy who we all mayhem so fitting in find this beer to share. Pours out copper topped with a small head. nose is sweet malts toffee caramel and faded hops. Taste is more of the sweet malts toffee notes and a little fruit. Overall dissatisfied just like the guy we work with.

[12/15] Bottle 8042. Superposition of Old Ale and Barleywine I guess. Ooh, someone’s been at the label with the quantum Bedazzler too. Clear dark reddish brown with a beige head that settles to half an inch or so and lasts well. Aroma of peated malt, singed toffee, vanilla, golden raisins, hazelnuts. Reminds me of Thornbridge Bracia as much as anything. Silky texture, lowish carbonation. Peated malt to the fore in the taste, some sweet dried fruit and nuts, fruit cake spices. The peat wasn’t too much in the aroma but it’s a bit much and a bit medicinal (at first I thought plasticky) in the mouth. Dries out a bit with spices, firm bitterness and just a little overt alcohol. Good, may well improve. [3.9][6/16] Alas no. Thinned out a bit and the peat is still more prominent. Fine drop though.

From a 500ml bottle on 27/10/2015. Pours a dark brown with a big light tan head. The aroma features lots of fruity hops and some light roasty and chocolate notes. The flavour is rich and balanced, with more roasted and chocolate malt, lots of sweet citrus fruit, and oodles of firm hops. Medium bodes with soft carbonation. A really good black IPA.

Flarra.

750ml bottle shared by ippopotamo36 (thanks Alberto!). Pours deep orange-amber with a Big off-white head. Aroma is malty, fruity notes, citrus, peach, pine, alcol. Flavour is sweet and malty with a medium to strong bitter end. High body, medium carbonation. Not exactly my cup of tea, but nice!

At the multi-national tasting held in Rome-Italy on 29/08/2015 (Jow, Mortlach, ippopotamo36 and Marco). Bottle, perpetual thanks to Sylvan. Pours a semi clear amber color, off-white adhesive cap. Nose: amber malts feel, alcohol, resinous mild notes. Mouth: rich, malty, alcohol blast (warming), caramel, very balanced!
