Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - deep chestnut with amber chinks. Nose - pine and grapefruit pith. Taste - lemon initially then toffee. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - it’s interesting but it’s unbalanced.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - orange but again with a yeasty edge. Taste - more moldy oranges. Palate - light bodied with a tangy texture but a dry yeasty thing going on, means I’m not sure that this is what the brewer intended. Overall - their cask versions get a good write up. I think there’s a bottling issue.
