Cask-conditioned at the Robin Hoods Retreat, Bristol 11/7/07. Golden with a lacy white head. Fruit aroma with a touch of hops. Flavour started malty before some grassy hops kicked in. Pleasant.

500ml bottle from Waitrose. Deep copper colour with a thin yellowish head - doesn’t really look like a golden ale; caramel aroma with some floral touches; rather thin and austere in the mouth with more caramel and a dry finish. Uninspiring.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, pale amber with a small, white head. Fresh, fruity aroma - a bit of coconut? Light in body with some vague, fruity accents. The finish is dry. Very fresh and lovely. 130507

Cask at the Red Lion or was it the White Lion? anyway it was in Lechlade Gloucestershire 09-06-07. Copper coloured with little aroma of note, tasted quite smooth and despite the obvious fruit and hops tasted this came across as being just a bit creamy and soft in the mouthfeel to me.

Nice pleasantly fruity beer with good hops, some bitterness tasty if a bit safe[b] 3 [/b] [i] [b] Cask conditioned at The Bell Banbury [/i] [/b] Pours golden with a hint of haze going on. Some sweet and floral aroma’s. Taste is fruity but delicately so and backed up with some sweetness and then the fruitiness is more identifiable as a soft sweet summer fruit, better than last time sees this beer move up a couple or more points [b] 3.3 [/b]

Bottle. Dark golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sour, apple, apricot, fruit. Flavour is dry, malt, apple, apricot, hint of hop, caramel. Ordinary beer.

Bottled. Clear, golden, with an off-white head. Quite malty nose, with caramel and some nice hops and some apricot. A bit grainy maltyness in the mouth, with some caramel and citrusy hops. Medium body and a nice, balanced finish. A bit on the citrus-hoppy side. A nice, modern English bitter. (070413)

Thin white coarse head. Chestnut brown body. Sweet roasty caramel aroma with notes of metal and nuts. Deep caramelly nutty taste with metallic notes. Very reminiscent of Ruddles County, but more powerful in taste, and less bitter. (0.5l bottle.)
