Handbottled. A dark amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma has strong notes of citrusy hops, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of malt, grapefruit, caramel, and hops, leading to a very bitter finish. Nice. Thanks a lot MadsBerg for sharing.

Hand bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madsberg. Pours a clear amber with a creamy and lacing off-white head. Fresh and piney hop aroma. Medium body, sweet malts, caramel and fruit. Solid hop bite in the finish with evident alcohol. A very solid IPA. 161209

Pours cloudy dark brown color with khaki head. Rye spiciness in the aroma with some pine hops. Roasted malts, coffee and some bitter hop flavors. The oatmeal give it a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Medium body with average carbonation. An interresting brew.

Dark brown with red glimts and a medium sized beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, chocolate and coffee notes. Sweet flavour with hard roasted malt, coffee and chocolate notes. Finished sweet and full bodied.

@RLRL with Orlando group-thanks to SoLan-1QT growler-pours a dissipating light tan head and hazy amber color. Aroma is smooth cedar, medium malt. Taste is cedar, earthy, some alcohol, medium malt, some pepper. OK effervescence.

@RLRL with Orlando group-thanks to Degarth and SoLan-1QT growler-pours a dark brown head that disappears and black color. Aroma is rich dark malt-chocolate/licorice, bourbon, earthy, easy. Taste is dark malt-chocolaty/licorice, bourbon, earthy/wood, alcohol kick. Sipping. Well done, occasional.

Pours deep darkness with full mocha looking head. The aroma is amazing and comes up just shy of knee buckling. I get thick rich fudge chocolate rum cake, a thicket of vanilla, some oak, roasty malts and then a light amount of bourbon way in the back. I would be just fine tugging on this aroma all day. The taste begins with thick velvety dark chocolate and roasty to nearly burnt malts. It then quickly picks up fudge brownie, vanilla, some modest oak and a touch of earthiness to mingle with dark chocolate and roastiness. It ends with bourbon building to just beyond a noticeable level allowing for only a barely detectable sliver of chili heat (if I didn’t know it was in there I doubt I would have noticed it). Great mouth feel and lots and lots of yum.
Some samples I’ve had were in the barrel too long. As a consequence some of the tasty goodness of Hunaphu was over-run by boozy sweetness.4.7 goes to a 4.4

750ml bottle @Pauls Gathering Thanks Paul-pours a retaining light brown head and dark brown color. Aroma is bourbon, sharp/acidic/earthy hops, dark fruit. Taste is bourbon, medium malt-peat, sharp/acidic/earthy hops, dark fruit. Hot but good sipping beer.

Bottle with thanks to that one guy who I can’t recall right now and may just look up later. I’ve held this for a while hoping to share with a pal, but I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants for the last couple of weeks and I think the inspiration from this beer might help me \"wing it\" a little more effectively. Anyhow, body is a nice leathery brown with light pouring through a little around the edges. The head is a massive six inches or so of fizzy foam that slowly dies back leaving lots of scaly lacing on the sides of the glass. Aromas are a pleasant mix of toffee, oranges, nuts or earth and wood. They are a little underpowered, but nice enough. Flavor is pretty similar and has something vaguely Cigar City about it... not sure if it is a malt profile I’ve had before or what... give me a couple dozen more bottles of their stuff and I’ll figure it out. Anyhow, malt presence is nice and sweet... brown sugar and toffee. Hops leave a little bit (very faint) resin presence in the finish and there is quite a fruit medley on the way there. Oranges and plums are what I come up with... maybe some cherries or something, too. This is interesting stuff, but not quite as nice as some CC products I’ve sampled. Carbonation and mouthfeel almost make me think this is nitro carbonated... it has that creamy texture and flavor.
