500 ml. Thank you TJ for sharing this Catador Club bottle! Aroma is dry chocolate, malt, weak vanilla. Flavor follows. Texture is smooth with the ABV hidden well. Not overly sweet at all. Brandy is mild in the finish. Tasty!

2023 bottle shared by Chalumeaux on 10/19/24, thanks, TJ. Clear dark chocolate mahogany. No head. Lovely vanilla and rich dark chocolate, but also some rather overt alcohol. But the other adjuncts are done tastefully. Woah! Taste like s'mores and heavy graham cracker with soft, creamy vanilla. Rich, savory, soft, sweet, succulent. That's incredible. Can't believe it smells so dry, floral, alcoholic. Good maltiness and attenuation. Somehow no booze in the flavor.

22 oz. Bottle, thanks to willrunforbeer! 2015 vintage. Color is dark brown with still some carbonation. Aroma and flavors are the same. Some caramel, molasses, toffee and weak raisin. Pretty good considering how old it is.

660mL bottled 10/25/15, shared by Willrunforbeer on 10/19/24. Thanks, Brian! Clear amber-caramel. Small, tan head to ring. Fruity, English yeast with mild oak. Quite nice shape for 9 years old. So much round, red fruit, mild caramel and raisin. Very old ale. Wow! Is this 9 years old?? Would believe this is one or two years old. Still hops in here?! Gently bitter with excellent malt and attenuation. Oak is mellow, no tannin, round and helps dry. This is shocking how good condition this is.

Can at home. Clear orange color, medium to full white head. Aroma is malts, wheat, yeasty. Flavor is similar: some malts, yeasty a bit, wheat, a bit sweetish and a bit bitter. Hmm not bad.

I was pleased to see a stovepipe can, the more the better, at a Total Wine on the west side of Austin a couple months past. I’m enjoying a pleasant fall early evening on the home patio, time to sample a new Cigar City beer. My Cowtown tulip glass is arrayed and I pour. The appearance is an amber-gold body followed by a respectable head of absolutely white foam. I take a sniff and get citrus, yellow fruit, grain and the promise of a substantial amount of hops. I am not disappointed when I have a drink. Certainly this is an old school IPA. There is cedar pine, lemons, crackers, a bit of apricots with accompanying sweetness, grapefruit, malt and yes, substantial hops. My expectation for the beer has been met and exceeded. Now to finish the beer and see what the 10% abv provides.
