Bottle at ChrisO Snow tasting, thanks to (sorry forgotten) as "Hop NZ Pacific Gem", 20/01/13. Hazed light golden amber with a good white covering of bubbles. Nose is hops, pale malt, touch of soap, some fruit. Taste comprises light hops, pale malt, less depth than the nose, orange pith, lemon, soap. Medium body with moderate carbonation some bitterness in the finish. Ok - but not one to revisit.

330ml bottle. Hazy dark golden to amber colour with small, frothy to macropore, diminishing, white head. Wheaty and minimally spicy yeasty aroma with a fruity apple touch. Taste is dry, moderately spicy, minimally peppery, decent hop note.

Bottle at ChrisO Snow Tasting (as Hop NZ Pac Gem). It pours hazy golden yellow with a thick white head. The nose is dough, spice, metal, tangerine, lemon and lime. The taste is metal, spice, sparkling water, grass, lemon, lime and orange pith with a dry, pithy finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. Pretty weak and watery. Not great.

33cl bottle from Biernavigatie. Brune claire, col épais crémeux, café au lait. Arôme malté, moyen, chocolaté avec ce côté renfermé de houblons, le tout sur un bouquet citronné et fleuri suivi de malt grillé. Palais est malté, grillé, café est léger avec une fine amertume en fin de bouche, et ce côté dry-hopped du houblon Galena laissant un léger fini aiguille de pin, agrumes pour un fini sec et poudreux. Ce dernier enlève un peu du caractère chocolaté et café censé être mis en avant. Le profil chocolaté tend à se faire plus présent lorsque la bière arrive en t° ambiante. Pas mauvaise, mais manque juste ce petit qcq chose de plus.

330ml Bottle at 8.4% (Thanks Benzai) - Dark brown with a haze and a foamy head. Marzipan, dried fruit and caramel in the aroma. Malty, fruity and slightly roasted taste with notes of burnt toaste, chocolate and dried fruit. Fairly enjoyable.

330ml bottle. Hazy dark brown colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally roasty and chocolately dark malty aroma with a decent fruity touch, blackberry. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty with an explicit blackberry note, later dry dark malty with a touch of fruit parings, some juniper.

33cl bottle from Biernavigatie, bottled on 12/08/2011. Brune, col moka-café au lait. Arôme est agréablement malté-grillé avec une pointe de torréfié-café. Baies de genévrier apporte ici une belle dimension au bouquet.Alterne entre baies et café avec une pointe de vanille et une fine note d’amertume citronnée. Palais est assez épais, levure avec des baies de genévriers bien présentes sans pour cela dominer le tout. Le malt reste généreux laissant des pointes grillées-café-caramel avec la vanille arrivant juste en fin de bouche. Le tout est balancé par un apport houblonné légèrement amer. AU final, bonne bière mais manquant juste ce petit extra.

33 cl bottle thanks to Ingo! Sampled on December 22, 2012.Brewed: 06-01-2012. Bottled 09-02-2012. OG 1077, FG 1012, ABV 9.6% vol.Hazy brown color, light brown head. Sweet, oak, whisky scent. Sweet, malty, wet stone, mineral, whisky taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Oak and whisky aftertaste.

Bottle on the train from Edinburgh (Nina’s Mini Market) - 08/12/12. Opaque deep chestnut brown with a thin tan head that retains well. Nose is light roast malt, touch of hops and pine, hint of mint. Taste comprises roast malts, light vanilla, toffee, background hops and pine, a litte boozeyness. Fuller end of medium bodied, smooth on the palate, dry in the finish. Decent enough stout - the alcohol is well disguised.
