Description

Bright dark copper color; creamy head. Malty aroma, sweet, mature, quite fruity (red grapes). Very smooth, balanced, but slips a bit thin in the end. Anyway, a nice bitterness.

Medium nut brown. Rocky head. Aroma shows plum, apple, dark rye bread, metals, phenols. Palate has a rough-edged yeastiness, and honey-sweet caramel malts. Nuts and wood appear as well. Not very cohesive, but I’m always tough on dubbels.

Bottled. Blond colour, reasonable head. Orangey, yeasty lively nose. Very sweet, medium bodied. All the orangey sweetness leads to a sticky mouthfeel, which takes the edge off an otherwise intriguing beer.

Hazy dark-blond color; big creamy head. Nice spicy aroma and flavor, some malt, dryish. Not complex but good.

Orange-amber color, nice perlage, thick creamy head (wonderful!). Strong but balanced: delicate malt and old hops aroma; spicy malt with some hop aggressivity in the mouth. A classic and very good Tripel.

Bottled. Ruby colour, coarse head. Aroma of solvent and plastics. Sweetish with notes of almond. Hard, clean malt profile. Artificial lacquer-like finish. has dropped from a wonderful beer to near undrinkable liquid in a few years :-( Could this have something to do with the new owners?

An amber beer with a fine head. The aroma is light, but sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is malty with notes of caramel and oranges - quite boring. And the body is thin as water.

Hazy golden color, thick lasting white head. Aroma is very hoppy, some spices like nutmeg. Dry hopbitter taste and palate, some sweet candy. Nicely balanced beer.

Dark chestnut brown, with some lovely reds and darker browns. Good white creamy head, fairly low carbonation. Smells of yeast, and lots of estery candi. Big caramel rush as well, on the nose. Flavor begins oddly wet, some earthiness but then quickly develops a sweeter caramel flavor. Lightens as it warms, with some red fruits, more caramel and moderate phenols. Flavor is all over the place and quite pleasant. Mouthfeel is the highlight though, soft and creamy, with a velvety sweetness. Dosent end too dry or too sweet. Just a well-balanced, solid belgian.

Dark amber color; giant creamy head. Malty aroma, barleywine-like, with spices (white pepper) and bitter oranges. Good malt, quite sweet, with a strong liquorice character. A real Christmas beer; ends less sweet (the age…).
