Tap @ the brewpub. Unclear reddish orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma is acidic fruity with light raspberry and hint of vanilla with some yogurt as well. Flavor is mild acidic fruit and berries, mostly raspberry, some minerals, hint of yogurt and vanilla towards the end. Medium body and average aftertaste. Quite nice but nothing outstanding.

Tap @ the brewpub. Clear golden body with a small, lacing white head. Nice, citric fruity aroma with grapefruit and a malty base. Flavor has the same fruitiness with good bitterness balancing against a malt base with hint of biscuit. Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. A pleasant, balanced, classic IPA that’s tasty, fruity, bitter and smooth.

Tap at the brewpub (backlog). Dark brown, close to black body with a medium sized tan head. Aroma has dark malt, mild roasted, bread, caramel, licorice and brown sugar. Flavor is medium sweet, roasted dark malt, bread, caramel, licorice, some dry fruit and balanced bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Nice take on the traditional Christmas beer. The draught version made on the premises feels slightly more fruity and balanced than the bottle version brewed at Arendals.

On tap @ the brewpub. Dark brown body, very close to black with a small fluffy off-white head that disappear as fast as the lagerboys do when they see this beer. Nice aroma of dark malt, chocolate, fruit and pepper. The flavor here is a bit special and takes you through a couple of phases before the finish line. The immediate flavor is dark malt and chocolate/cocoa beans then it feels like some tickling green pepper before the hot chilly dominates totally for a while. A few more hot sips and then I recognize some pleasant piney bitterness. The body is fine and balanced and then the cocoa returns for the aftertaste. Of course it’s too hot for talking about balance here, but I enjoyed it as it is, a hot chili beer and the cocoa makes a fine contrast for the total experience. Of course I have another one. --- Beer merged from original tick of Torgersen Hot Chocolat on 27 Oct 2013 at 11:43 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Tap @ the brewpub. Hazy golden body under a white head. Aroma is very fruity with a wide range of different fruits type citric, tropical but also floral with a green sting. Taste is mild, sweet malt with moderate bitterness and loads of fruity hops. Feels a slightly bit green, but this was a very fresh taste from the first day on tap. Medium body and same aftertaste. Complex hop profile but a bit average anywhere else. Quite typical for the style with other words.

Tap @ the brewpub. Clear, slightly deep golden body under a nice, dense, lacing white head. Aroma of malt, grain and slightly fruity hops. Taste is soft, smooth malt, medium bitterness and hint of fruity hops. Nice and balanced all the way, very refreshing and dangerous easy drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear, sparkling, golden, dense white head. Lacing. Fruity aroma with pale malts. Some grassy notes. Quite dry, nicely carbonated, with a gentle bitterness. Some sweetness in the medium length finish. Decent indeed. 250131
