On tap at Madison.
Appearance: dark brown close to black with a bar pour's kind of slim white head which settled off fairly quick and didn't leave any lace
Aroma: sweet coffee notes, earthy & roasty coffee notes, dark chocolate bitterness, light notes of cocoa powder
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a mild roasty to bitter to sweet quality; finishes semi-bitter to sweet
Texture: light to medium bodied, slighly sessionable; some smoothness; good carb level
Overall: nice enough coffee stout.

On tap at the brewery.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a slowly dissipating head and the lace coated the sides of the glass
Aroma: more milk chocolate than peanut butter but at least it was actually peanut butter rather than what some other brewers try and do
Flavor: milk chocolate and peanut butter with a touch of sweet coffee; finishes the same way
Texture: between light and medium bodied - maybe just a touch closer to medium, I think. Leaning towards being a sipper, I think, hmmmm....that's kinda tough as well as the ABV is low enough but the body is lighter than expected - hmmmm, your guess is as good as mine, I guess. Some smoothness along the tongue but also some roastiness preventing this from being watery
Overall: despite some odd things going on with this beer, I say it was well brewed, I have to admit I may have been distracted by the hot blonde waitress, sorry.

Can to nonic glass.
Appearance: dark brown with some light red hues closer to the sides of the glass with a two finger eggshell white foamy head which tapered off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark roasted malts, cinnamon, some maple syrup, sweet wafers and some clean toasted nuts
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to a gentle sweet to roasty and cinnamon spicy quality; finishes leaning into the maple, sweet wafery tones and nuts
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable as the cinnamon seems to add a little bit of a stifling sort of factor; however, there is some light smoothness which calms down some the dryness
Overall: a pastry brown ale to return to. I hope they do this one again.

Can to snifter.
Appearance: glossy yellow tinged orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which died off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: citrusy pithy tones along with some grapefruit and orange hop tones backing that up; light clean malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fair bittersweet quality; finishes citrusy with the malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; pretty smooth along the tongue with a touch of hop assertiveness
Overall: nice job Will and gang! I'd have this again.

Brewery draught, 7/6/24. Dark, clear. Tan head. Nose is at least aromatic, which is more than you could say for the vanilla bourbon porter. Actual peanut butter and cacao. Less so beer, though a bit of roast. Clean, at least. In the mouth it's light, watery, moderately roasted with big peanut butter and chocolate notes. Not much in the way of body or beer character but at least the peanut butter is well-done.

Brewery draught, 7/6/24. Clear, dark brown. Small, lighter-tan head. Mild roast, mineral water. Not much more than that in the flavor. About as watery as possible. Difficult to identify that there is anything in this, including beer.
