Draft at the brewpub. Pours rich brown with a creamy, beige head. Nice dark malt aroma with hints of milk chocolate and coffee grounds. Medium sweet flavor with relaxed roasted malts, baking cocoa, earth, burnt toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nicely balanced to finish with fairly dynamic chocolate character, some milk chocolate, a bit of bittersweet cocoa. Very drinkable with good depth for the ABV. Sound.

Medium sweet flavor with bitter grain husks, old ripe fruits, fruitcake, creamy toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. There is a slightly incongruous bitter edge to finish, a little grassy, plus further ripe fruits, berries, and creamy toffee. Not bad.
