Description
WooHa is a bold, ambitious brewery based in the Highlands of Scotland and began its journey in 2015. Being situated near Speyside, our beers are brewed from the same cool, clear water that goes into some of Scotland’s most famous whiskies. We combine this fresh water with quality ingredients from around the world to create delicious, balanced, flavoursome beers that we bottle condition to ensure their freshness and give a natural carbonation.

Bottle. Appearance is very dark, with a big fizzy light-brown head. Aroma- smoke, dark malts, burnt toast, coffee, smoked meat, burnt treacle, caramel. Taste is dark malt, treacle toffee, hops, chocolate, smoke, sweet dark malts, some coffee, sweet toasty finish.

Bottle at salthorse. Pours deep brown, nose is smokey, roasted, toffee, taste is similar, sweet.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours hazy reddish - brown with a frothy beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, malt-driven, varnished wood, brown bread, resin, some dried fruits, cacao and toffee. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, underlying sweetness, resin, wood, varnish, nutty, cacao, dried fruits, fruit & nut chocolate, burnt toast, brown bread, baked goods and touch of spice with a drying, toasty finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. A decent enough malt-driven affair.

Bottle from Hop Shop Aberdeen. It pours lightly hazy deep golden - amber with a rugged, fluffy white head. The aroma is quite green, herbal, grassy, light veg, quite sweet, grainy, sweetcorn and biscuit. The taste is initially dry, light bitterness, then it's quite sweet, green, grassy, herbal, minty, some harshness, some spice, veg, cabbage, grainy and metallic twang with a drying, green and spicy finish. Moderate body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Can't say I'm a huge fan of what's going on here...A cacophony of flavours. Looks good and had a decent mouth feel at least.

Bottle from Westhill SS. It pours lightly hazy copper with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is cedar, resin, floral, herbal and a touch of citrus. The taste is dry, quite bitter, floral, herbal, grass, peppery spice and soda water with a slice of lemon with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Not bad. Drinkable.

Bottle thanks to Ian. Appearance - dark brown to black and opaque. Slightly fawn head. Nose - bonfire, light molasses. Taste - smoky, burnt toffee. Palate - creamy texture, dried out nicely by the smoke. Overall - good stuff.

Bottle thanks to Ian. Appearance - golden amber. Fluffy white head. Nose - gentle toffee. Light nuts. Slightly dirty earth. Taste - burnt toffee, almost liquorice. Palate - medium bodied, creamy texture. Dry-ish finish. Overall - decent.

Bottle thanks to Ian. Appearance - hazy amber. Big off white head. Nose - orange, apple and floral. Taste - apple, then very bitter resin. Palate - too bitter for me. Light bodied. Overall - a bit challenging.

Bottle thanks to Ian. Appearance - golden with a nice tight white head. Nose - toffee and light orange. Taste - orange, apple and a touch of apple skin. Fruit salad. Palate - light bodied, bitter finish. Overall - quite good.
