Description
Love Lane Brewing is based in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, voted the “coolest” district in the UK. We’re keeping the city’s proud brewing heritage alive, with a new brewery and distillery.

In 2016, we began the transformation of our Liverpool base, renovating an old rubber factory into a 18,000 hectolitre Brewery, capable of brewing 3.2 million pints. Our family of beers and gins are all made under one roof.

Liverpool Craft was founded in 2011. Liverpool Craft bought in the Higsons Brewery name in 2018 at he same time the brewery changed name to Love Lane Brewery. Brewing started at the current venue in 2019. Cask beers are produced using the Higson's name, keg beers using Love Lane.

Love Lane 'Lovin' at Home. Beer 3 of 3 for the evening. Darker amber coloured final beer of the trio. Crisp, traditional tasting for these isle, with a fair bitterness factor. The red ale has an underlying berry-sweetness available in both aroma and taste.

Love Lane 'Lovin' at Home. Beer 2 of 3 for the evening. Second session beer of the night from this brewer with pine replacing the citrus fruit in this one, evident in both aroma and taste. A little weak given its lower alcohol volume, which is clearly a factor in a slight blandness to the beer, it is however crisp and easy-drinking. Yellow-orange appearance.

Love Lane 'Lovin' at Home. Beer 1 of 3 for the evening. Starting with a hazy yellow-orange coloured session ale. Easy, citrus tropical with a touch of sugar about them. Plenty of taste but quite a bland fruitiness.

440ml can. Poured a mostly clear golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, light grassy, citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, light toffee, light herbal, light pepper spice, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Can picked up by the missus from Home Bargains. £1.19! I mean it’s going to have to be shite to not be at least worth that. And it’s not. Far from it. Bit of a haze on a straw gold. Decent white foam. Crisp overall. Light hop bitterness. Sinks easy. Nice malts. Clean finish.

Apart from Munich, the only other German city I've visited during the official Oktoberfest period is Stuttgart. This one has a pretty good Märzen styling, perhaps not the most flavoursome, but as I've supped it has grown on me. Fair nose and quite easy for its strength.

440ml can at 4.3%. Pours pale gold with a large, frothy head. Aroma is sweet tropical fruit and slightly acrid bready straw. Taste has soapy lemon and tropical fruit to start with a bitter straw finish.

Liverpool's riverfront had UNESCO World Heritage status between 2004 and 2021. Slightly hazy, better looking than the Mersey with a golden-yellow appearance. Nice gentle citrus and a hint of pine make for quite a tasty combination. Light citrus aroma.
