Since 1926, brewing has no longer been a matter of chance at Bénifontaine, but rather is an art which has been passed down from generation to generation. A dark reddish copper ale with a thin creamy lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light chalky notes, ok. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light treacle, OK. On tap at Le Gabilot.

Aroma: dried fruits, toffee, biscuity malts and sugar. Taste: biscuity malts, toffee and some spices. Clove aftertaste. Next one please!

Bottle from Beer Hawk Advent Calendar. Aroma combines berries with sweet biscuity malts. Opaque dark amber. Thick foamy off-white head. The flava mirrors the aroma: chewy berries provide a light-medium sourness and biscuity malts provide caramel sweetness. Tangy. Underlying dark fruits appear into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. I do like this style when I actually get my hands on one.
