Plastic bottle (trade with ogivlado/doggythedog). Sweet floral malt aroma. Golden yellow color with large head and moderate effervescence. Slightly sweet floral malt flavor. Very light grass hops finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottled 500ml. -Again new lager on Croatian beer scene. Nice dark golden coloured, medium sized white head, slight herbal nose. Toasted malt, herbal hoppy and slight bready with touch of caramel. Pleasant bitterish hoppy finish. Much better than ordinary Pan but still pretty the same as other Croatian lagers here. And yes, I completely agree with everything Doggythedog wrote.

4/12 A 0.5 l bottle Doggythedog found at some supermarket here, thanks for bringing it up! It poured darker golden body with bigger head. Nice aroma, herbal hops with caramel and bread malt. Flavor was slightly bitter, hop dominated with some bread and hint of caramel sweetly rounding it. Acidic notes of corn. Medium body with equivalent finish, bitterish and refreshing. This is definitely so much better than ordinary Pan and it’s good beer for the local standards (read: pale lagers). I liked the caramel note.

While finding it at the Billa supermarket in Split certainly brought a certain excitement as finding a new Croatian beer always does, that soon turned to, well, anger. But first, the review, as objective as possible. It poured a slightly darker golden colour with a big, fluffy white head that went away relatively slow leaving some lacing. Very nice actually, it looks good for what it is. The nose is ok, some slightly sour vegetabley-herbal hopiness lying on top of a honeyish maltiness. The taste is kinda nice, certainly at least slightly better than their other products. A bready maltiness that ends with a slightly acidic herbal hopiness, very light corny fruity notes that don’t detract. All in all, ok for a Croatian macro lager, would drink it again.And now, the rant. I’ve known for a while that this was coming. They apparently gathered 100 "beer lovers" and "worked" with them to make this. So they bloody gathered a bunch of local drunks who never drink anything other than Pan, Kaj and maybe 2 other pale lagers because it’s a that’s available to them due to the fact that’s that Carlsberg bloody Croatia makes. They made some tastings with them where they chose what they liked most and surprise surprise they chose a beer almost identical to that what they always drink. Bloody brilliant and pretty much shows what they consider their target public to be. People who drink beer just to get drunk. Let’s look at what they make. Pan - pale lager. Kaj - pale lager, Pan Lagan - pale lager, Tuborg Green - pale lager, Carlsberg - pale lager, Pan Bez Alkohola (alcohol free) pale lager. Podravka and Pannon Aszok were pale lagers. Carlsberg Croatia, your insane lack of innovation MAKES ME SICK. Mind you, the same goes for pretty much all their competition but these guys had the chance to make something different and made more of the same shit again. Oh so they dumped some roasted malt in a pale lager which had no effect on the taste, arome and maybe just made it half a shade darker than their normal fare. Go them. I mean, heck. If they made it, I dunno a little stronger or anything to make it a little different. But nooo... this is Pan with 0.1° gravity less, 0.4% alc less and possibly 2 miligrams of roasted malt more and approved by drun... I mean beer lovers. Yes. Beer lovers. If I wrote this 2 days ago it would’ve contained at least 30 curse words. I mean fuck, they finally get some roasted malt and they still make a pale fucking lager with it and push it on a marked drowned in boring pale lagers and desperately in need of local dark beer. Bloody jerks.
