Founded in 2011 Brecon Brewing quickly established a reputation as one of Wales' best known breweries and its beers were eagerly sought out across the nation.

In 2019 acquired by Cold Black Label. Brewing activities moved to Bridgend.

Cask at the Reading Beer Festival 2012. Pours clear, bright gold with a faint, white foam head. Light pale malt and straw aroma. Big sweet falvor with honey and toasted hay. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with further notes of honey and toasted hay. Very nice golden ale, though fairly sweet.

Cask (gravity) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, frothy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, malt extract, hop extract, light roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and lightmoderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120505]

Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, mesk - mash, nutty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, earthy - nutty, malt bitter. Cask at Reading Beer Festival 2012. Pours clear gold with a light, white foam head. Tangy straw in the aroma. Lightly sweet flavor with some grainy malts, dirty hay and light honey. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sweet finish with more grain, lightly peppery hops and hay. Fine.

Cask at NWAF 2012. Amber to caramel colour with a nice off-white head. Lightly hoppy aroma with malt and caramel. Lightly sweet, with a citrussy bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body. (2013-01-25)

On gravity at the Christmas Beer Festival, The Volunteer, Bristol 15/12/2012. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of red fruits, caramel cinnamon and clove. Flavour was similar sweet and spicy, with a slightly bitter finish. Good.

On gravity at the Christmas Beer Festival, The Volunteer, Bristol 15/12/2012. Deep gold with a slight, off-white head. Light, apricot fruit and leafy hop aroma. Flavour had solid, bready malts, a lot more fruit and a decent bitter finish. Good.
